Never have I ever eaten a burger this dry. I ordered a single roadhouse burger, after 3 bites it was so dry I just took the top bun off my burger coz I couldn't even chew anymore. I didnt eat that single bun as it was the driest burger bun ever. Like someone heat it up in a microwave...
The burger meat was also dry. I'm guessing that they just made it and put it in the machine to keep it warm so all the meat juice goes away after a while. Dry and almost cold. No, it was not made after i ordered it I could tell.
Dry fries. Yes, unfortunatel, everything I tasted was nothing but dry. Not freshly made per order as I'd imagined.
We also had a mushroom burger. But guess what sauce was added in the burger..... sweet chilli sauce...... like they ran out of all other sauces a d just grab this one by accident...... and everything fell apart when you eat. 😑
The waiter dropped some of our fries on the floor without saying sorry. He literally said, "it's OK it's OK. It's on me. I will clean it. " Um..... did he expect me to offer to clean it???? An apology would have been better, wouldn't it?
I spent €8.5 for extra brisket, which I thought would be on the side, but no. It's inside the burger and super small for the price.
The kids corner (basement) was tiny (compared to the all you can eat in duiven) On the website it says for 3-16 years old kids but in reality more like 3-6. It's so annoying on a Saturday night you can't get through the crowd to go up or down the stairs. The shoes on or off rules were not very clear, so kids walked around in socks while grown-ups all had their shoes on.
At the front desk, people were really lining up, waiting for a table, or to get in with a reservation, or to pay or to get out, or to ask questions while they only had 1 staff responsible for all these. Another staff bringing the guests to their tables would make this line much shorter instead of overflowing at the entrance/exit. It was a chaos...
In short, no, we won't come back. McDonalds / snackbar quality but Van der Valk pricing. This restaurant is...
Read moreMany reviews will probably praise this place for bringing to the Arnhem area an American Diner experience or might criticize it because one cannot have an authentic experience of an American Diner the Dutch way (if that makes sense at all). If you have a been to an American diner in the US, you would know there isn't one experience and an American Diner in Kentucky is much different than one in Boston, or San Francisco or Seattle. So focusing on this aspect is just a waste of time for your reading. The restaurant setting is definitely inspired by American pop culture, however the Dutch feel, whether in the menu, the bar, the atmosphere, the service is all there. Not having tasted all dishes, I cannot judge the whole menu. However i had the pulled pork as a starter and it about a 6/10. The combination with the pita bread was not successful and the pulled pork it self was medium quality. As a main i had the flat iron steak and hands down, it is one of the best flat iron steak i have ever had: top quality, tender and juicy. So i give it a 9/10, just because i would not know what a 10 would taste. The mushroom sauce that came with the steak is also an example of how mushroom sauce should be. So kuddos for that two. The coleslaw salad was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, their service was good and on a busy Saturday night it was reasonable. All in all for me this place is a repeat and a good place in Arnhem to grab at least a...
Read moreI was recommended this restaurant through a friend and was super excited to try it out since I've driven past it several times and it peaked my interest, especially with the American vibes from the outside. We had the loaded nachos for starters, and for the main we had a chicken burger and a bbq burger. The nachos were good. The chicken burger was good, the bbq burger was just okay. But when it came to the dessert...we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to even come ask us if we wanted dessert! And every time I tried to make eyecontact with our waitress to place the order, she didn't even look our way. And when we finally got the dessert, it was a disappointment (atleast for me). I ordered the M&M sundae, and what I got was definitely NOT what was advertised. It was just a goblet with a scoop of vanilla icecream and a small bag of peanut M&Ms. Even the caramel drizzle from the sundae (mentioned on the menu) was missing. We spent 2,5 h here due to the long waits, even though they only give you a 2 h timeslot for the reservation. Safe to say, it was not worth the waiting and I doubt I'll be...
