Had no intentions of going here. Came in off of the street with no reservation, and was greeted as friendly as could be by the bartender. Was seated right away and greeted by a server who was also very friendly and informative. She took her time and explained what several items were and what the specials were. Hands-down, the best margarita I have had on the whole island and I have had a lot of margaritas on this island. My wife had the Aruba Arriba. and enjoyed it as well. We had the catch of the day, wahoo, and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the shrimp which was recommended, we had the crabcake appetizers, and finished up with a crème brûlée. We both had two drinks apiece, and our total bill barely broke $100. Another server by the name of Franklin greeted us and made sure everything was satisfactory. We enjoyed talking with him about the island. All of this said, I wish we would have found this place before our last day on the island. It will be the first place I eat when we return. Atmosphere was great, as we were able to watch the sunset and people coming and going on...
Read moreNot fresh - yes, I can tell. I made sure to ask if seafood is fresh or frozen. The waitress said it was freshly frozen. I said it was either fresh or frozen but can't be both. I thought it might be a language barrier when she went to get the manager. She confirmed that everything is fresh. She sounded so confident i went ahead and ordered the catch of the day and the lobster after confirming yet again. I was alone and treated myself to 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. The escargo was meh because oil was used and not butter. The conch fritter was weird and mushy inside with no taste of conch. Even the lemonade was old and has a funk to it. The Mahi was dry and overcooked and not a "fresh catch". The side of rice was stale and dry from the weekend perhaps. The lobster was NOT fresh and decomposed. I asked very specific questions for a reason. Don't lie to me to make a sale. Tell me like it is so i can order something else. I traveled all day and was looking forward to fresh seafood on the water. I arrived hungry and left hungrier hence the 1 star with no...
Read moreTried a new restaurant on our return visit to Aruba and it was a good experience. Nice casual atmosphere down by the marina. We sat outside and the restaurant was full on a Sunday of a long weekend including 3 large groups so we are glad we made an online reservation. Our server was friendly and we ordered the seafood platter as it was recommended and we saw other tables ordering it. The calamari and shrimp were well cooked and seasoned. We were surprised the pieces of fish were not boneless as it was hard to see and feel the bones since we didn't know what part of the fish it was and it was crispy. We don't normally order fried seafood but it was tasty and worth a try. While the shrimp and calamari were great the fish lacked flavour and some pieces were dry. Overall I would recommend the Fish House if you're looking for a casual meal away from the hustle and bustle of the...
