I went there recently with family for what was meant to be a nice evening out however, I when I left I was not one bit happy or satisfied. I am not saying that this is a totally bad place. Actually it is perfect if you want to go with children. It has a nice big play area for the children. The staff are very attentive and friendly. They talk with a smile and are polite. The menu is reasonable with a reasonable price. So why did I give it such a low rating? Read on.
Whilst I was there, on a number of occasions I have seen the bar staff use their bare hands to scoop ice for cold drinks! One time during the evening a staff member from the kitchen came to help the bar. She scooped the ice with her hands filled a glass then pulled her trousers up and tucked her undershirt in and....... went back to scooping the ice without even so much as washing her hands! I couldn't get myself to finish my drink. All other drinks that I ordered after that, I asked to be served in the bottle with a straw. It is such a big and busy place and I can only imagine how badly the staff must sweat. An ice scoop would have solved this. Hygiene first, always. If that kind of thing does not put you off then it is a place you will most probably enjoy as everything...
Read moreFound this place through Google Maps. Drove all the way from Twente to try it out. Must say this place looks awesome. It's much bigger than I envisioned from the picture or the restaurant map. It's amazing how they managed to create this indoor playground inside a restaurant without making it feel like its an indoor playground. Our kids of 6 and 8 enjoyed playing there. Note that there's a time limit on your reservation (typically 3 hours) that you can stay there. Should be enough. Staff is friendly. Toilets are funny. Nice big terrace out front to enjoy the sun. Free parking just a little 2 minute hike away from the restaurant. The parking lot is well marked. The only biggest downside of this place was the food I'd say. It's definitely not bad, but it's also nothing special. Portions are also of normal size, nothing major, so for big eaters, it might not be enough. The food also looks more special than it tastes. Same for the icecream. Prices are on the high side to cover the costs of the playground, I get that. If only the food was just a little more tasty it would have received...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic place, a really special find, visited on holiday and liked it so much we went back every night until the end of our break! There's two sides of the restaurant so it's great if you've got small children with the play areas but there's also a quieter dining area if that's not your thing. Food is amazing and they have good vegetarian/vegan options. My son has a dairy allergy and they were very accommodating, including homemade dairy free ice cream which made his day! They have menus in Dutch and English (and a few other languages too) and the staff are just fantastic, special shout out to Yisa-Mae who was amazing. We can't...
