A cute spot for a quick lunch when you're hiking at Schoorl!
The place has a self service system. You order at the cashier inside. And take your drinks with you. The food they will serve at your table.
The sandwich menu is very basic. We decided to order the "broodje Rundvleeskroket". Which was served with a damaged bread. There was a part missing of the bread. This translates the quality of the food they serve and the service of the staff. Also they gave us a sugar sachet instead of mustard sachet.
Loved the mango passionfruit cake! It was not too sweet and tasted fresh due to the passionfruit. Highly recommend this cake!
This location has a great potential. Instead of queueing at the cashier I would have preferred a QR ordering system, and they won't need to hire more staff for each shift. The queue at the cashier gives you this IKEA fast food vibe.
A tip for their management; Given the ordering system, my husband went to the cashier and I went to find a nice table in the sun. My husband was ordering a red wine (for me) as stated on the large menu at the entrance. This menu did not indicate what kind of red grapes they serve. When the cashier gave him the options, he was forced to decide directly on the spot. Not knowing which red grape I would prefer. When introducing a different ordering system, this situation wouldn't occur. When you're at the cashier and there is a queue of 8 people behind you, you don't walk away quickly to ask your family/friends which grape they exactly prefer. So you just order whatever. Considering this is a service and hospitality industry, this forced situation can be improved for a better customer experience.
After our kroket, cake and wines. We we craving to end with a coffee. But seeing the queue of 7 people, it discouraged us to order again. Berenkuil management, you're...
Read moreThe bear pit is a great pitstop if you’re around. Their beers are solid, the snacks are very Dutch (think various types of deepfried cheese), and overall food is fine if a bit office kantine.
The service is friendly and the atmosphere is very Dutch, lots of little signs made out of drift wood, fake sheep skins etc but if you need a spot to sit for a drink and a quick bite...
Read moreHet is over genomen en nu komen wij weer graag! Dus 2 sterren erbij.
