Hillside Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Bonaire

We don't normally write reviews but we want everyone to know about this hidden gem!! Firstly we were warmly greeted by our waitstaff. The menu is unique and varied!! For starters we shared an order of coconut shrimp that were succulent! The best we've ever tasted!! I had a delicious, full rack of tender ribs!! I had to take half of my meal home because it was such a generous portion!! My wife had the best chicken satay she has ever tasted!! She also had to take half of her meal home!. We booked our next reservation (while in the restaurant) to return within a few days. Wish we had found the Hillside so much earlier on this trip!! Best meal...

After days of being stuck on a resort with limited food options, we were really eager to find a place that served a variety dishes. So that we did and we were not at all disappointed. The staff has been all smiles and super friendly and helpful with menu. Food was equally great, delicious fresh ingredients. HBR may still be finding their feet. Service was friendly, accommodating. Drinks and food however need a rethink. Margarita tasted like ice bended with water. Shrimp pasta: the underlying Alfredo(?) sauce tasted as if it came from a box. Lipton comes to mind. Do not expect a quality al dente pasta in a rich creamy sauce.
