Our meal was 22/03/2025around 1pm. If I could have given the service a 6 out of 5 I would have. We had hiked in the national park in the morning and then went to the Cadushy Distillery. It was very busy and we were very hungry after our morning hike so the distillery recommended this restaurant. The location of the restaurant was easy to find and lots of parking. The scenery at the restaurant was stunning. There was about 20 people seated on our arrival att various tables in twos and 4’s, there was 6 of us. Right away our server came over and explained meal options and the menu and answered our question. We had the fish sandwich, salt cod, three of us had goat, and 1 fish of the day meal and dessert. For 6 of us it came out fresh and hot and all agreed yummy. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server remained attentive we had water pop and beer. Some of us then had the most decadent desert Pina Colada cake. Needless to say the people with dessert had no choice but to share. The service was exceptional as I said the food was good the restaurant was spotless as was the washrooms. It is an open air restaurant but there was a lovely breeze we were not too hot. The views around the restaurant...
Read morePosada Para Mira is a restaurant rich in tradition with culinary highlights. For those who venture off the beaten tourist paths, leave the coast, and explore the inland of Bonaire on a non-diving day, a visit to the oldest settlement, Rincon, is a must. And when in Rincon, you absolutely have to visit Posada Para Mira. Here, you can enjoy the view of the hilly cactus landscape that characterizes Bonaire's interior. In the garden, you can observe chickens and pigs. Due to its hilltop location and a gentle breeze, the temperature at Posada Para Mira is very pleasant, even without walls and air conditioning.
The food is traditional and definitely worth trying. We tried the iguana soup, and for those willing to give it a shot, it's a truly delicious soup. Iguana tastes a bit like chicken, but be careful of the many bones. The other dishes are also not standard menu items but are all delicious. For those not inclined to experiment, there are also tasty fries available.
Overall, our visit to Posada Para Mira was a unique experience that we highly recommend to everyone. It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover Bonaire's local cuisine and culture off the...
Read moreWe knew we made a mistake when we saw the signs in town pointing us towards this restaurant. Also, when not a single local was eating there, that was another huge red flag for a place that serves "local food". And to be honest, after we ate what we did and paid the price we did, I can understand why nobody comes here other than tourists.
Fish of the day was super dry and overcooked, with the portion size being for a child. Iguana stew was also very dry, no sauce, so I was surprised at the "stew" part of it. The amount of bones was so overwhelming, it made it so challenging to eat. Add a greasy fried piece of cornmeal, salad that tasted like the grease from the cornmeal, overseasoned and mushy rice, we felt completely robbed by the time we left.
We paid over 50usd for 2 dishes and pop/coffee and left hungry.
The redeeming factors are the staff who do their best and the view is quite nice.
Tourist trap, beware!!!! Please be honest in...
