I do not usually review hotels but I throughly enjoyed my entire experience here and felt they deserved to be recognized for a job well done ||I was doing business in Ede and this hotel was recommended to me. I took the train from Amsterdam and the hotel van service picked me up -very promptly-from the station. I used the van service daily and they very graciously accommodated me, but I would recommend if you are in town on business you hire a car. ||The room was nice and the bathroom was newly renovated. I was in the first floor and there was a little patio outside my room and a park adjoining so it was very private and quiet. As an aside there is no air conditioning in the building I was in. ||This is not a luxury resort, but an authentic independently owned property. The owner is present and very engaged with the guests. I was comfortable at all times. I felt valued and important as a guest. As a benefit I got a great night sleep even with time zone differences. Above all the room was private and quite. I would say the room might have been a bit cramped had my husband been with me, but the property has a number of room options and variations and I am sure there was one that would accommodate both of us. In room safe and coffee/tea service was also appreciated. ||The property is adjacent to two parks and a swimming club - not open when I was there. The parks made for great hiking and running and there is ample opportunity for biking. One of the parks was actually a conifer arboretum. Very unusual and something I have never seen and will likely not see again. Excellent side benefit. ||The on property restaurant, which I will review separately, was an excellent culinary experience for me and made my trip immensely easier. ||Finally the staff were kind, accommodating, funny and efficient. The owner is clearly passionate about the hotel and shows a real desire to not only please guests, but to also understand their needs. I recommend seeking them out and saying hello. The price was also well within my corporate guidelines. Price for value...
Read moreTruly one of the most pleasant stays I've had anywhere in a long time. De Lunterse Boer is the perfect balance of comfort and understatement. The setting, the buildings, even the people — all feels very much in harmony with the lush natural surroundings. My room was immaculate upon my arrival and was kept in that state by flawless daily attention. I was part of a workshop that met all day for three days straight in one of the conference rooms, and found that to be superb as a setting, well-appointed with all the necessities for a productive, nourishing experience. And the food at the restaurant — amazing! Each course was an artwork, each meal a kind of concerto. Delightful! The staff who operate the restaurant are especially attentive and thoughtful, carefully observing as our party moved through the meal, doing their very best to adapt to our somewhat unique wishes, and all the while delighting us with a sequence of menus where every step was thoughtfully choreographed, all the way down to the amuse bouches that linked various steps together.
There's plenty more to say about the setting — gorgeous forest paths to explore, the nearby "Midpoint of the Netherlands", the intriguing pine sanctuary right behind the hotel...a thorough review could go on and on. But I hope this is sufficient to convey my sense of appreciation of how it was to stay here. If I have the opportunity, I'll definitely come again — even more happily with...
