Bistro Hanninkshof — Restaurant in Enschede

I must sadly say... you will never see me there again, and I think the same goes for the rest of the people I was there with.

We had a reservation for dinner with 8 people. It was warm Friday evening, but there were no places for us to sit outside, so we were sitting inside.

I'm not sure if those people working there are changing regularly or if they just never before worked in hospitality.

Service: BAD After we were sitted 7.15pm at the table (which was not really for 8 people) we needed to wait another 20 min before someone (after we asked if we could get served) finally decide to take an order for drinks. Then they needed another 12 min to serve us first drinks. Another 15 minutes before someone took order for food. When starters were served, we were there for good hour already. Second order of drinks was just not possible because they were just keep looking at the floor and they clearly looked lost... Main meal was served 37min after starter. Finally we could order 2nd round of drinks which were served 7min after order taken. BUT beer was WARM... Now is around 10pm we were still not having our desserts served but people were busy with wiping the floor and scrubbing the kitchen. Dessert arrived 10.05pm

FOOD: Starters: suprise from chef menu you can see on the picture, bot for the rest...WAY overpriced for what you get Main dish: chef menu in picture. Just A LOT of meat...vegetables or something like that you can see 4 peas or beans (don't really remember anymore) Dessert: chef menu some kind of the worst tasted tiramisu ever...actualy that's a shame to call tiramisu.

Overal prices are WAY too high for what is served.

ENVIRONMENT: Location is not bad. Place is nice BUT: Cooking warm inside + lighted candles (outside 26°C) Stinking water from rooting plants on the table (photo)

And before I get an answer from management. There were not so many guests that this would be accepted excuse.

This place has potential, but not the way it is going now. And teach your staff to take away empty glasses/bottles because table next to us nrlearly had no space left since no-one cleaned grasses and bottles...

Booked this for my birthday dinner. We had the 4 and 5 course chef’s menu with wine pairing. Whilst the food was really delicious as well as the paired wines, we waited minimum 30 minutes between each course for the food. The wine also didn’t arrive on time and nobody asked in between if we wanted to drink something, there was no explanation or apology why we waited so long. Our waitress Rose was very friendly though, but the team did seem very overwhelmed, even though the restaurant was not full. The side dishes were not portioned correctly. We were 4 people and we were served a salad that was barely enough for one person, and a portion of chips that may have been enough for two. Overall the portions were quite small. The food itself was delicious though! The service varied: one waitress was exceptional, very attentive and quick.
