We stayed here for a quick weekend getaway and had a lovely time. Our room was clean and cozy. Very comfy bed and pillows. The area is lovely surrounded by walking/biking trails and lovely horse farms. There is also some hunebed burial grounds nearby. ||||We decided to have dinner her also and we had the chefs choice 4 course menu. It was amazingly good!! Each course was so different and incredibly tasty! The best was a shrimp on a mash with a bouillabaisse sauce. I can't even tell you how good that was. I could have just had that and been very happy! The service was lovely and the owners are very involved and so friendly!||||Breakfast was perfect, with yogurt, soft boiled eggs an assortment of meats and breads/croissants. Wij verbleven hier i.v.m. een jachthonden wedstrijd in Kropswolde/Meerwijck over het weekend.|Honden in de kamer en in de bar of restaurant is hier geen enkel probleem.|Het interieur is authentiek, in dit van 1850 daterende gebouw, en geeft een goede sfeer.|De kamers zijn simpel ingericht zonder extras (geen thee of koffie faciliteiten), de bedden zijn zeer comfortabel en wij hadden een douche en wc en een wastafel in de kamer. De prijs is eigenlijk teveel (€100 pn) voor wat het is.|Wij arriveerde op vrijdagmiddag en na een drankje hebben wij een hele fijne wandeling gemaakt in de nabije omgeving, Noordlaarderbos is vlakbij. Het diner s’avonds was oké, de soep vooraf was prima, mijn vrouw had de zalm met asperges wat prima was, ik had sucadestuk met diamanthaas wat ik nogal droog vondt. De volgende avond had ik de saté welke ook niet zo mals was, mijn vrouw had een venkel soep dat was prima. De laatste avond had mijn vrouw de Linguine met roomsaus en zalm en ik had de zalm met asperges, dit was beide uitstekend. Ook hadden we verschillende desserts deze waren alle goed. Over het geheel was het oké maar de gerechte zijn naar mijn mening wel 3 tot 5 euro te duur voor wat je krijgt. Een groot pluspunt was echter dat ze speciaal voor ons het ontbijt vervroegde omdat wij optijd weg moesten. Het ontbijt was prima met lekker vers brood, croissants en suikerbrood.|Conclusie, men heeft alles gedaan om het ons naar de zin te maken en de sfeer was erg plezierig, maar ik vindt dat het over het algemeen te duur was.
