Beukenhorst Hotel Restaurant — Restaurant in Gulpen-Wittem

Hotel Beukenhorst is very well located a 5 min drive from Gulpen and a few steps from the bus stop to Maastricht or Aachen. Though there is no private parking, there are many public spaces alongside the road and we didn't once have a problem. A good quality Dutch style breakfast with bread, cheese and an egg or fruit can be eaten in the delightful garden, weather permitting. ||Although the room furnishings were very simple, I had a very comfortable sleep every night. Our only disappointment was that the website doesn't make it clear that some rooms are more basic than others and doesn't charge any less than the better appointed rooms. We had a somewhat tired, garret style room with a cabin bathroom on the 3rd floor which would not have been our choice had we known. We had a dinner at the Beukenhorst on the occasion of the 60th wedding anniversary of the parents. It was great. Booking and contact in advance was helpful. The ambiance and the reception was superb. Friendly South Limburg atmosphere as my parents, we are used to. The food was perfectly taken care of and very tasty. The wine was absolutely great. The service was great.
