Brave Hendrick — Restaurant in Haarlemmermeer

It has been a very pleasant experience to enjoy the delicious meal here. First of all this restaurant is within perimeters of a big sport horse staple. While walking to the restaurant, one can see the sport horses. There is plenty of parking space available beside the restaurant. When I had entered the restaurant, immediately I was warm welcomed by one of their staff. Since I was alone, I have decided to sit at the bar. The bar stools were comfortable and the bar area was big enough to use it for dining. The personnel were very attentive and complied fully to COVID guidelines that was applicable at the time of my visit. The facilities were very impressive decorated-welcoming and clean. The food quality and quantity was very well, everything tasted very fresh. Try the Dutch beef steak and the salad. This place is a hidden Gem maybe 30 minutes drive from Schiphol Airport. If you have a long stop over at the Airport, worthwhile visiting this place. The price quality ratio is excellent, 9/10. Service is excellent 9/10. Food quality and quantity 9/10. The ambience at this place is fantastic, but the food leaves much to be desired, especially considering the prices.

We were offered bread to start, and we said, "Yes, please!" What arrived was a small stick of bread cut into six slices—not nearly enough for two people. However, it had a unique smoky flavor that was surprisingly delicious, perhaps the best thing we tasted all night. But when I saw the bill, I was shocked to find we had been charged €6 for it. For that price, no amount of smoky goodness could justify it. Then again, compared to the €5 salad, the bread was a steal.

The salad was utterly flavorless—bland to the point that it felt like they were just taking our money.

As for the main courses, they were decent but nothing special, earning about three stars in terms of taste. Again, overpriced for what they offered.

The desserts followed the same pattern—overpriced and merely okay.

A place with a unique atmosphere. Restaurant in the middle of the paddock and stables. Let's not be fooled by appearances, it has no unpleasant smell at all. The kitchen prepares delicious tuna on a hot stone, which turns from rare to well done before our eyes. I also tried Tartare, which the chef will prepare in front of you.
