The hotel is very nice, but this buffet is definitely the sour part of the place. After paying over €70 for my husband and I, nearly everything on the buffet was empty, they were completely out of plates for over 30 minutes, and they refused to make any food because they were closing in 2 hours (yep, 2 hours). Even the soda machine was broken, which luckily I talked to one of the people working there into fixing it for the mob of people who were angry about it. This place is shockingly bad, the only food that was available was fried things like french fries fries. This is not fine cuisine, it was the bottom of the barrel. I’ve been in Europe for 5 1/2 weeks on a business trip, and this was by far the worst meal that I had. One of the worst parts about it was that the employees simply did not care. We asked if they were going to put out any sushi, and the guy just waved us along. Eventually, I found the guy who makes sushi, and I asked him if he would make some, and he rolled his eyes at me. Then he made one cucumber roll, even though there was at least 15 people waiting in line to get some sushi.
My husband is diabetic and really tries to watch his carbohydrates, there was very little for him to eat.
Basically, I paid all of this money to eat doner kebab. That was the only food that was still available, and it was cold. Plus, you can get much better donor kebab on the streets for 1/5 of the price, this food was absolute trash.
I was a little bit reluctant to even write this review, I didn’t wanna sound like a whiny American, but I wish someone had warned me. One of the employees that was working there said there was nothing he could do, that they were overwhelmed and that the restaurant doesn’t have enough employees to do the job anymore, so they just keep ripping people off.
On my way out, I watched two children deep fist the chocolate fountain with...
Read moreWe had a birthday dinner buffet in Corendon All You Can Eat restaurant where the night before I requested a sort of birthday feel dinner, just asked them to do something fun. And it was more than even expected, the table had balloons, great service throughout the dinner, they brought champagne and one of the waiters even sang (a good singer too) when bringing the birthday cake (that we had to tip him to show our gratitude) with other guests in the restaurant singing along too, that it almost looked like a private birthday party but then with strangers lol. This apparently is their birthday package which you can request with a surcharge of course. We couldn't drink the whole bottle of champagne which we eventually shared with another table were a guy also had his birthday and they were happy with it and started to sing to thank us.
The food was good, it was an international food buffet, from Dutch to Asian, from Spanish to English and Japanese with drinks included. Also enough veggie options for vegetarians. The breakfast was in this restaurant too, and this food was good as well. The staff during both dinner and breakfast ask you if you need anything of the buffet before they clean it up when it's time to close the buffet.
Btw, you don't have to stay at the Corendon hotel to enjoy dinner at Corendon All You Can Eat Restaurant, you can just make a reservation online, or call...
What a tragedy, where did this go wrong? A few years ago this restaurant opened. Close to us, we have been there many times. Excellent buffet, staff who really tried to put the restaurant on the map. Because of Corona, didn't go for a long time. Now suddenly 3 shifts for the buffet. First to be as early as 5:00 pm, what a time. Last one at 8:30 pm. Arrived there, queues at the door. What a sadness, people all want to get in as fast as possible but they are not allowed to yet. Staff that let people through totally uninterested. As if you are lucky to be allowed inside. We had reserved for a place where we often sat. Locked out. Was not even looked at. And why not? Nobody knew, it was also said that we were 10 minutes later than the starting time so yes, it stops he.... Then we were put in the new greenhouse (read: cold draughty space, place to put even more people. No? Then we will be put in the arrival hall with an angry face. There but in the corner then. All in all, almost half an hour had passed while waiting and discussing. Then it was time to hurry because our shift was already going fast. After a first glass of wine (which was certainly tasty) we tried to get a plate of food. Impossible, pushing and nervous people who all wanted to fill their plates at the same time like hungry animals. So shabby all around. Later the mob shifted towards the desserts and there was a little more room for us. But alas. Slowly everything was almost gone or not replenished. Bitterballen were cold, satay should not even have that name, and we threw it away. French fries were good, sirloin steak was incredibly tough, you really do not want that! Clearly bought as cheaply as possible. Then a quick glass of wine but unfortunately 10 minutes before the time the wine was finished, the tap taped off. Corendon has clearly made the step to quantity over quality. Apparently you can serve this travelers from abroad, they never come...
