Restaurant de Cockpit — Restaurant in Halderberge

My experience was very bad. We went for High Tea. It was very busy. The hot dishes were not hot and it was soft (bitterballen suppose to be crunchy). Most dishes were not fresh but bought in the supermarket such as donuts, the cake and the last course (Chocolate was also from the supermarket). We had mint tea in the beginning (with mint leaves) but not refreshed. There was no sugar on the table (we had to ask for it). There were not enough napkins. the food was not bad but we expected more.

Op weg naar Zundert, waar we destijds onze caravan hadden staan, kwamen we als we binnendoor gingen via Oudenbosch ook langs vliegveld Zeppe. Ze noemen het nu Breda International Airport. Dat is toch wel even lachen voor een dergelijk klein vliegveldje waar ook alleen maar kleine vliegtuigen kunnen landen. Goed voor lessen te nemen, maar International Airport, hoogmoedswaanzin. Relatief is er ook weinig te doen. We wilden wel eens kijken hoe het er nou was. Op het terrein zelf is een restaurant, Hangar 01, maar dat lijkt ook een hangar en ziet er wat vervallen en leeg uit. We hebben maar gekozen voor Restaurant de Cockpit, aan de entree van het vliegveld. Van daaruit is er iets minder te zien, maar door de toch enorme stilte is er überhaupt weinig te zien. Het is wel een mooi restaurant, ruim van binnen en nog met een fraai terras ook. Voor de ingang is een ruim parkeerterrein, wel vaak vol door 'anderen'. Er heerst een gezellige sfeer binnen en de bediening is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het eten is er goed, er is een ruime keus uit de kaart en de prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is dik in orde. Er zijn heerlijke 'gewone' maaltijden, lekkere schotels en niet alleen patat en snacks. Er zijn ook diverse voorgerechten en soep en tot slot ook...

Nice place to have dinner or just a drink.

The terrace is next to the runway so it's a nice spot for plane spotters. But even if you are not a fan of aircraft it's still a nice place.

The food is of good quality and so are the cakes and deserts. Products that come with whipped cream really come with whipped cream and not the cheap stuff from a can that you buy in the supermarket.
