Twentse Bierbrouwerij — Restaurant in Hengelo

The starters were fine, but unfortunately, we had to wait over 1.5 hours for our main courses. When they finally arrived, the entrecote seemed more like a ribeye and was overcooked.

I didn’t complain about the entrecote/ribeye because by that point I was just done with it. I was hungry, wanted to go home, and we had a small child with us so dragging things out even longer didn’t seem worth it. The chicken burger lacked seasoning… we had to add salt ourselves. We weren’t the only table that experienced excessive delays that evening, which points to a broader issue with service.

The menu is fairly standard, and although they promote their “own” beers, they’re not actually brewed in-house. As for the other beers, they’re nothing special either. We live just five minutes away, but after several disappointments, we’ve decided to go elsewhere next time. Considering the price, there are definitely better options...

Visited during a winter weekend lunch, food options were very limited and definitely not matching the expectations of what is visible online. Food was ok overall, just a bit disappointed by the available choices. In front of the door entrance there are the shelves where they store the meat and it was basically empty, except a couple of steaks that have been sitting there for a bit too much, even for aged steaks.

I will retry this place once hot season is back and maybe for dinner, hopefully there will be more meat in the menu.

Iemand zei: "Je moet naar de Twentse Bierbrouwerij..." toen wij op zoek waren naar een geschikte locatie voor onze bruiloft op 14 maart. Zo gezegd, zo gedaan, en kort daarop zijn wij naar dit proeflokaal gegaan. Van dat besluit kregen wij beslist geen spijt, manager Jitte Wigbold nam voor ons echt alle tijd. Maar zonder gekheid, geen vraag was te gek en alle (dieet)wensen konden in goed overleg en zonder enig probleem worden doorgevoerd. De onderlinge communicatie met Jitte vanaf het eerste gesprek tot aan de bruiloft zelf verliep smetteloos, zowel telefonisch, dan wel via e-mail of in 'Real Life.' Er zijn verschillende zalen beschikbaar voor zowel de grote als de wat kleinere feesten, wij hadden het 'Lagerhuis,' het interieur is prachtig industrieel en gezellig ingericht, typisch iets voor ons. Sowieso is de algehele ambiance prachtig industrieel ingericht. Het bedienend personeel zijn zonder enige uitzondering vriendelijk en meegaand, de glazen blijven niet lang leeg. Ook de geserveerde hapjes tussendoor zijn heerlijk, afwisselend en ruim voldoende. Aanrader is de 'Mini Twents Black Angus Beef Burger met cheddar' als afsluiter...
