Incontro — Restaurant in Hoorn

Our first time at Incontro was a very pleasant experience. We decided to go for the tasting menu. What we didn't realize was that it doesn't really have a fixed number of courses and that the dishes keep coming until you say stop. Started with 4 exquisite pasta dishes that were among the best we have had in Hoorn. The last dish was a pizza with prociutto and goat cheese. Absolutely wonderful. Also the crust was very tasty. We could have tried more pizzas but at this point we were at the limit and had to opt for the last course, tiramisu. We finished of the dinner with a limoncello on the house. The service throughout was excellent. The chef also stopped by to ask how we enjoyed our first dining experience at Incontro, which was a nice touch. The restaurant is small and filled up throughout the evening. We spent over 2 hours eating, talking and enjoying. Definitely a five star experience and we will definitely be back. Our waitress shared with us that Incontro hosta a wine tasting, guided through a Sommelier on the last Friday of the month and pairs each wine with one of its dishes. Count us in!!! Hidden gem in Hoorn. This restaurant is located in the former railway station of Hoorn Kersenboogerd. They have created stairs on the side of the building facing Betje Wolfplein to enter this Italian restaurant.

The interior is very cosy. Nice use of colours, comfortable seats and wooden tables. Because of the warm curtains it didn’t feel like we were on a railway station. The music was a mix of modern soul and pop music.

The food was amazing! We came for just a quick normal pizza but these pizzas were just so delicious. I had a pizza capitana which had just the most delicious ham and cheese. During the evening the most attractive food passed our table. We definitely need to come back to try the pastas and meat dishes.

The service here is very personal and informal. The waiter is very generous with tasting and making fun. All In all a great and surprising experience....

Wij hebben hier gegeten en voor ons was het persoonlijk een aanfluiting. Wij zijn hierna langs een pizzeria gereden omdat we nog steeds honger hadden.

Het begon met een Italiaans broodje met een bodempje tapenade en een heel klein stukje boter. Onvoldoende om de broodjes mee te smeren.

Vervolgens kregen we een selderijsoepje maar hier zat geen smaak aan en de ravioli die erin zat waren precies 3 stukjes. Het smaakte naar een opkikker alleen dan verdund.

Het hoofdgerecht en het dessert was ook niet echt ons ding, de worst die bij het gerecht zat was net een gum, taai! De portiegrootte viel ook erg tegen. We hadden na afloop nog honger en hebben bij een pizzeria nog wat besteld.

Over smaak valt natuurlijk niet te twisten maar het was dan ook niet zo druk binnen, dat verklaart mogelijk het een en ander.

Wij hebben in tijden niet zo slecht gegeten helaas. De bediening is overigens prima maar wij raden dit...
