Teahouse 't Bluk — Restaurant in Laren

This tea house has a fantastic location and an almost comical number of staff, but somehow not a shred of organization. Service is a complete free-for-all. One minute, five different waiters rush to take your order. The next, you’re left ignored for half an hour.

The real spectacle, though, is the delivery process. Orders arrive seemingly at random, with waiters wandering around in confusion, trying to match food and drinks to tables. The table numbers seem to be mostly decorative.

In the four times I’ve been here, they haven’t managed to get my order right even once. Sometimes I receive the wrong item, sometimes nothing at all. The sheer level of disorganisation is almost impressive.

It’s a shame because the place could be great, but without actual management or a functioning system, it’s just chaos with nice scenery. Until they fix this, I wouldn’t...

The location is great. They have a nice playground for kids. But the service is terrible.

We’ve been waiting for fries for more than 30 minutes, and for a cheesecake for more than an hour. 2 times we’ve asked a waiter about our cheesecake and the answer was always “oh, we are busy, it’s coming soon”. It never did. Maybe they were still milking a cow to make it.

For 4.5 euros you can order your kid 4 sausages out of can together with 2 slices of bread (not toasted or anything) and some ketchup. Oh, and I’ve ordered white bread with those sausages, but they brought brown.

Maybe the owner should hire more staff if it’s difficult to handle full sitting with the current number of people...

Good reviews are certainly from Dutch people with low standards. It's a nice location but the food is terrible and service is quite bad. I guess that's what happens when it's only 15 year old kids working. Nothing wrong with their efforts though. We were told the kitchen closed after placing our order. But then when we were leaving our food arrived. The quality of the food is ridiculous and way overpriced for what you get. Iced americano was served as a hot americano with a glass with ice cubes alongside of it. The hot ham sandwich was cold, with cashews and hazelnuts instead of pinenuts.
