Restaurant Chardonnay — Restaurant in Leusden

We accidentally came across this restaurant when driving from Veenendaal to Amersfoort. The name "chardonnay" caught our eye and we were surprised to see that it was an all you can eat. With food on the menu such as Angus beef, oysters and Sashimi you definitely don't expect this type of concept.

Nevertheless, we went on a busy Friday evening and had an absolute blast. You can only order one menu item per round, but the portion sizes are great. Not to big, not to small. We were seated (party of 5) in a very pleasant area that had lots of round tables. It definitely did not feel crowded at all, but there is also a bigger area in the back of the restaurant that seemed to be less atmospheric, but I have to mention that I only had a quick glance on the way to the bathroom. Which was clean and the toilets individually were closed rooms.

There were good options for our pregnant group member, and many options for me as a pescetarian, and the guys loved the different meats they served. With the side note that at the beginning of the evening the meat was amazing, but later in the evening it became less tender and seemed to be rushed done.

Spending wise: We had a bottle of wine, multiple water bottles, several different drinks individually, high quality all you can eat menu (with the exciting dessert bar included), all of us had coffee after and we left a tip = 80 euro p.p.

The restaurant is nicely furnished and looks cozy but fancy at the same time. A lot of dishes to choose from. Suitable for vegetarians, fish lovers as well as meat lovers. Dishes were good. For the nicely priced all-you-can-eat menu we couldn’t complain.

However, there were some things worth mentioning that were slightly unpleasant during the evening. The first thing was that the waitress denied providing an additional menu card (we only had 1 menu card for our table of 6 persons). She gave us a blunt “No” and told us that guests would steal them if she would provide more than 1 which sounded very silly.

Secondly, we politely asked the waitress for more bread to which she replied “didn’t your table get some bread earlier?”. It would have been nice if she phrased it more professionally. Therefore, I have rated restaurant Chardonnay with 3* instead of 4* as our experience was a bit mixed.

Went here with my parents and was pleasantly surprised. Its not your standard all you can eat restaurant. You order one dish at a time and it is served in a really nice way. It really look like dishes from a high end restaurant. You can order as many times as you want. Food is served quite fast after ordering. The dessert is a buffet with lots and lots of choices. Parking is also great as there is lots of space.

They could however add more invalide parking, just one spot for such a big restaurant is not enough.

They also cater very well for people with allergies as you get a list of all dishes and you can see what is in it, and for some you can then order the dish without something specific like...
