Het Tussenstation Lisse — Restaurant in Lisse

Good environment and lovely place but horrible customer service. Wouldn't visit again. When assigned a seat the waiters got into a fit about this specific person not being allowed to assign seats. My grandmother has a hard time standing so the extra 15 minutes this took was horrible. I am a vegetarian and asked if a simple toasti could be done without the ham which was absolutely not possible even thought the current visitor total was a whopping number of 20 (persons, not groups). I had to order a snack dish of cheese rolls (which was not made for lunch) because all the other vegetarian dishes contained goats cheese which I have a hatred against.

This was not the restaurant it's problem. It was the service which was bad, the menu had eggs on there and a different dish has cheese and bread. I don't get the problem that a simple bread with an egg and cheese is hard with only 20 customers and 4...

Returning from Keukenhof we stopped by at 16.30, knowing the closing was listed as 17.00 but after initially being ignored, one staff member said "hello" then walked by and closed the gate. We sat down, and eventually someone came and when asked about having coffee, they immediately disappeared and we could see them talking to another member of staff.

It was clear they didn't want our business, and as we got up to leave the waitress returned and said something about "but we are closing in 10 minutes".

It had seemed like a long time, but it was maybe 16.40.

We left. Looking at other reviews, the staff attention to customers does seem to be a shortcoming.

Maybe they could change their advertised opening time if they want to...

We have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The food was good (not spectacular but quite nice) and one of the staff members was super nice. However we had an unpleasant situation at the end of the meal with a second staff member: we asked for some desserts and the cake slices were big (we had seen them going to other tables). Our children wanted a piece of cake so we planned that they shared. When they brought us dessert we asked for a second plate for the kids to share and we were told we couldn't have the plate. This was completely unnecessary. We were a party of 5, we all had mains and adults had dessert to so this sounded completely ridiculous and spoiled the experience....
