Gasterie De Knip — Restaurant in Maasgouw

I had a social deal for a walking route 6 km and to start with a cappacino and apple pie these were nice .went for 6km walk signs were not clear got help from someone on the way around that pointed out a short cut .got back to the restaurant had to wait for table to be cleared then ordered two ice teas , that he wanted to put down on the table that was full of crumbs so I asked him to clean it which he did , I also mentioned to him that the water they had put out for the dogs was green , it was still green when we left .the soup took 20 mins to come we had onion soup with a piece of bread and aioli which I thought cream cheese would have been better or that the aioli would have been better served with the main course ,which took another 40 minutes to arrive .the salad was nice , but the main course itself ( I had spicy mince with chips ) was very dry and mainly consisted of dry overcooked chips and about two tablespoons of meat .looked pretty though but looks can be deceiving .a shame because we were looking...

Visited with my 3 teens recently. The staff were nice but the service was extremely slow. It was busy, so maybe they were understaffed. Took about 20 mins to place an order and then about 45 mins for food to arrive. Food was OK, but we had much more superior meals in other places in Belgium. Waited again for drinks to arrive and half our meal was eaten. Not a great...

Heel bijzonder. Een eenvoudige kaart maar klaargemaakt door een topkok. De entourage is netjes. De kaart oogt simpel; hamburger, saté, e.d. Mijn vrouw had een fish and chips (15€) ik een steak van €20. De steak werd vergezeld met een doperwtenmousse met truffelsaus en een aantal wortelen (en frites). Vlees van bijzonder goede kwaliteit en goed gegaard. Jammer dat de smaak van de truffelsaus te dominant is (maar dat is persoonlijke smaak). Van mij had er ook meer groente bijgemogen, 3 wortelen is wel wat karig. De vis was een kabeljauw, ruime portie en goed van smaak. Mijn vrouw nam een sorbet toe; ook hier verrade de kok zich weer. Geen standaard 3 bolletjes, maar een ingenieuze en smaakvolle creatie. We dronken daarbij een prima rosé (huiswijn voor €15 de fles). De wijn werd afgerekend voor €19, maar dat werd na mijn interventie gecorrigeerd. Bediening is vriendelijk, maar een beetje onzeker. Daar kan nog wat verbetert worden.
