Roadhouse Wognum — Restaurant in Medemblik

We randomly ended up at Roadhouse Wognum a little American themed joint in the middle of the Dutch countryside, which honestly felt like stumbling into a roadside diner from a Netflix show where everyone’s a little too friendly but the food slaps

The outdoor seating? Literal grass. Like, you could take your shoes off and pretend you're at a backyard BBQ with people you actually like. We posted up inside though, in a cozy booth that gave me vintage diner vibes minus the sticky menus.

I went for the Roadhouse Burger and yeah… I crushed the whole thing. The patty itself? Kinda had that frozen feel like it used to live in a bag, but I’m not mad. The thick cut strips of crispy yet juicy bacon, tomato, fresh lettuce, and melty cheddar cheese came in hot and saved the day 🤤Thick cut fries? Golden and glorious. Salad? There. It existed…

Now my partner ordered the Alabama Chicken Burger and let me tell you it was saucy, crispy, and straight up delicious. Like, “can I have a bite?” turned into “maybe I ordered the wrong thing.” 👀

Anyway, I’d 100% come back to try more. It’s not gourmet, but it’s got personality, decent food, and a vibe that makes you wanna stay a little longer than you planned. Solid four stars. Would recommend especially if you like your burgers with a side of charm and a dash...

Nice place, though not a real Americian Dinner, its a snackbar with a Americian touch!! Burgers were not really good.. too compact! Presentation was Nice!! Burger bun was dry, the burger meat was to compact and chevy.. not like a fresh handmade burger, no taste!!!..Did not ask how you wanted it done, ( rare, medium, wel done) bacon was soft..overall not great!! Wij hebben hier gegeten en vinden het niet kind-vriendelijk. Er was maar 1 kinderstoel aanwezig, die al bezet was, waardoor onze dochter van 1 jaar op een gewone stoel moest zitten; gevolg tand door dr lip. Ook hadden we tweemaal een kindermenu genomen vanwege het speeltje dat er bij zou zitten volgens de menukaart. Wij hebben gewoon geen speeltje gekregen voor de kinderen terwijl dit menu 7 euro pp kostte! Ze hebben alleen een piepkleinbeetje patat, frikandel en limonade gekregen. Op de menukaart stond letterijk: patat, frikandel, kroket, kaassoufflé, 3st kipfiletnuggets, limonade, speeltje. Er stond nergens het woord OF bij. Tweemaal wat van gezegd maar er werd geen gehoor aangegeven; de eigenaresse luisterde mee maar deed er ook niets aan. Kortom; overpriced en niet klant/kindvriendelijk.
