Hotel en Restaurant De Borgh — Restaurant in Moerdijk

The hotel itself was quite pleasant, the reception, bar and restaurant was lovely and we had a good stay overall and discussed returning again|However given our experience with the staff on the last day we most certainly wont be! and find it a complete insult in the way we were treated, we spent 2 nights there and over €800 euros on rooms and food etc. Whilst waiting for a taxi at 0830-0900 in the morning to leave we were sat working on a table, a gentle man politely explained they would be putting xmas decorations out but we told him not to worry as we would be leaving in 15-20 mins|However some further workers (ladies that worked in the bar area and breakfast area) clearly not realising we spoke and understood Dutch language thought we were just English and began to speak about us in Dutch saying things like "just get rid of those two girls" "They need to go now" - This was a complete insult, given how much we just spent at the hotel, this hotel clearly doesn't appreciate their guests and its certainly not the way to treat guests. I will ensure to look for an alternative next time visiting or an Airbnb as this clearly is common practice and they have no appreciation for manners and...

We booked a last minute room for 12 March 2022.||Travelling by train, the hotel is on a walking distance of the station of Zevenbergen.||The room was large, with a desk and two seats. The Bathroom was very clean.||The beds were ok. The shower was incredible: better than at home.||We asked to rent bicycles. Although were were there off-season the employee at the desk found a solution and we could rent two bicycles on 13 March, no e-bikes but regular bikes.||The breakfast was good, the coffee offered was incredible. I think it was the best coffee we had during breakfast in many years (espresso was real espresso: strong coffee with a great taste).||On the 12 of March we had dinner in the restaurant of the hotel. We ordered Chateau Briand (59 euros for two people). We got the medium meat. Unfortunately it was awful. We mentioned it to the waiter and we got a new plate of Chateau Briand. This time it was perfect. The best meat you can wish for. We went here for work stay, not in the best times, when everything is closed, but still we had good time, people was friendly no difficulties everything could be done and arrange, honestly we had more difficulties at big "fancy" hotels then here. Realy nice people working: helpful and friendly. Because we came in winter it was bit cold in a room and summery blankets. Food was nice Angus beef Hamburgers 🍔was delicious so as Tournedos - great, vegetables was tasteless, but who cares... who needs green when you have awesome peace of meat 🍖.
