Two very mixed meals here. We went for lunch there yesterday, and had nibbles and drinks and it was great. Super friendly, good service, and liked it so much we decided to come back. Went back tonight for dinner and it was more miss than hit. There is no question that the food is good, but our night was thoroughly ruined by terrible service and a bit of "nyahh" by the staff. Tonight we was there with our two young kids and sat down at 6pm. We ordered a shared starter, which for 24€ we thought was good value and was something they could have charged more for, the kids mains came at the same time, which was a surprise but was what it was. The starter was mostly excellent, however, the shellfish barely had meat in. We estimated there was meat in only 1 out of 3 shells. So we ended up with a lot of empty shells and not much meat, the spanish ham and olives where also an unusual add on!!... After then waiting 45 minutes for the finished plates to be taken away, we then had to ask one of the waitresses to remove the empty plates. A further 15 minutes went past before these plates where then removed. Our drinks glasses had been empty for at least 40 minutes as well, so we had expected the waitress to then ask us if we want more drinks.... this was not the case, so we had to ask the waitress if she was going to ask us. 10-15 minutes later our mains came. I had ordered a lobster, and wife the turbot, but we got the impression that the chefs had cooked our dishes for earlier but had had to reheat them as they had been waiting on the waitresses. The time now was 7:45. As a result, our mains where all overcooked, so when i pointed this out to the waitress that the top of all our food was just over crispy, the waitress choose to argue with me, and when i dismissed the argument and moved on, she kept pushing to argue with me. This made the event really uncomfortable, so we chose to ask for the bill. At no time was there then desert or coffee offered, which again just goes to show the bad level of service offered by the waitress. In the end we felt really disapointed. Waitresses with an attitude like a robot, I think they are trained to speak with maximum 3 words... They also brought us 3 extra drinks we did not order, so they took them back.
Oysters (Oesterproef 5) were tasty. Bad seafood dish 48 euro (Crustacés), it was dry and tasted old. French fries were overdone. Cod (kabeljauw) tasted like... nothing, only water. We stoped eating after 10 minutes and asked the staf what went wrong? She took the dish to the kitchen and then asked us if we would wait for a new dish. No thanks, after that disappointment, I asked for the bill and she gave us a discount of... 1 (one) drink (glass of Verdejo), also the 3 extra drinks we did not order were still on the bill. I saw this to late but they paid me the 3 drinks back.
In a nutshell: beautiful restaurant (architecture) but poor service, kitchen could do...

So i do understand that people can have a bad day, but as it is not the first time with this waitress, i hope you will adress the topic of hospitality.
