Sat there for 30 minutes with the waiter working around me and ignoring me. When I finally managed to talk to him and tried to ask for a drink, he told me to wait a minute. Was kinda rude about it.
Nobody returned with either the drink, or to take my order. Now, I can excuse someone being busy, it was crowded. But since tables that came in later were served just fine, and I couldn’t even get the waiter to look over even though he spent 10 minutes tidying the empty tables around me, this came across as very rude and a waste of my time. Ended up getting that drink from the gas station down the road.
Went up to the bar to let staff know that, in case my order was passed on after all, I was leaving. Wouldn’t want to waste anything, or cause confusion with the people taking over my table. Waiter claimed not to understand me, but spoke English with other guests just fine and would call someone who could help. Seemed annoyed I was there in the first place, before I even said anything.
Such a shame, it used to be a great place to stop for a little break, left 5 star reviews in the past. I hate to pull a Karen, but do expect to be able to order within half an hour, and not to be looked at as a nuisance. If I’m doing something I shouldn’t, please just...
Read moreSit down and get ready for this. First off, the hospitality was beyond anything else I've experienced in Europe so far. The host and waiter where funny, friendly and both spoke very good English. Now on to the food; indescribable. We started with bruschetta which was a toasted baguette with: olive oil, tomato, red onion, black olives, arugula, and parmesan. The flavor of everything put together was a symphony of flavors that is a must try. For my entree I had stuffed peppers; it was a vegetarian dish. A sweet red bell pepper with a soft crunch, and filled with purple potato, red onion, black olives, and sun dried tomatoes. A top the peppers was toasted creamy cheese which completed the vegetables very well. Finally, dessert, warm apple pie with cinnamon ice cream and whipped cream; along side with a cappuccino. The apples in the pie were soft and firm with a slight hint of cinnamon, and with the fresh whipped cream it was already a treat. Smack some of the ice cream with that and it turns heavenly; the cinnamon ice cream tasted similar to horchata. This went very well with the cappuccino because it had a very strong coffee flavor; best I've had so far. If you're ever close by, I urge you to stop by and...
Read moreTerrible food. We've pointed out several mistakes to the server like the fact that bigos was sour, potatoes served with the pork knuckle were old, potato pancakes filled with flour and the silesian dumplings were frozen, but we will just never return and we want to pay and leave without an argument the chef came from the kitchen asked what is wrong, did not wait for the reply and said if you don't like it then leave. This created a very nervous atmosphere here. As a person that just went through cancer and just wanted to spend a nice time with the kitchen of my origin this was definately more than I have bargained for. I will never go back there and I sugguest you better spend your hard working money somewhere else too.
Edit: The person that responded to my review must be living in a parallel universe, because none of the things she stated there took place. We were well behaved and did not raise our voices, the one that gave the story to the kitchen was the server and she was probably the one to make a fairy tale in the first place. No one was also applaiding we left, people were scared why the chef is...
