Great location.
I was there with family, and asked if they could improvise a vegan dinner for me. They were happy to oblige, even though they wished I had warned in advance. I had thought about that, ofcourse, but as the (online) menu only said to ask about the allergens contained in their food, I didn't get the impression that warning beforehand about dietary wishes was an option. I was pleasantly surprised they could make a vegan meal.
The vegan dinner was okay, even though it was merely a small sized salad of vegetables and mushrooms, and it lacked in substance, especially compared to the enormous amounts of meats the rest got.
There was a lot of staff running around, and most of them waited our table at some point, which resulted in some confusions: I ordered a carmenère wine ('la cremière', according to the waiter), but was instead given a merlot by another waiter. Luckiky, the mistake was swiftly corrected (but without clear excuses) after I inquired if I had gotten the right wine. directly following the starters they wanted to know if we were ready for desert. the bill was incorrect, stating items we did not have and omitting thing that we did have.
The staff was friendly, but appeared a bit nervous; like they were trying very hard to be a posh restaurant but didn't know exactly how to do that. I think it would be better if they just relaxed a bit, and interacted appropriately without worrying too much.
The overall experience was satisfying and pleasant. The food was decent, but in general, on all dished the amounts of vegetables and potatoes or grains seemed too little, and might not comply with normal...
Read moreThe restaurant is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and professional – we really appreciated the great service. However, we had a problem with the meat dish. On the menu, it was clearly written as €45 for two people (2 pr). But when we got the bill, we were charged €90. When we asked why, the staff told us that €45 was actually for one portion, even though the menu said it was for two. This was confusing and felt misleading. The bigger issue was the meat itself. It was very chewy, undercooked, and almost raw inside – even cutting it with a knife was difficult. Unfortunately, we didn’t mention this to the staff right away (which was our mistake), and only brought it up after eating about half the dish. When the chef came to our table, he told us that if we had said something earlier, they could have changed or fixed the dish, but at that point, there was nothing he could do. Afterwards, my husband felt sick with stomach pain and nausea. We’re not sure if it was from the undercooked food, but it was enough that we had to leave quickly, and say nothing about. Overall, the appetizers were good and the staff were great, but I wouldn’t recommend the meat dish. The service and atmosphere are nice, but the main course and the menu pricing were...
Read moreThe atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was good and friendly, but unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. We ordered the rib roast, and it was one of the worst I have ever tried. Our portion had very little meat and was almost entirely fat. It was extremely chewy, making it a real challenge to cut. Additionally, the potato was undercooked and still hard. After struggling to eat it, we informed the waiter. I believe the manager then came over and told us that we should have mentioned our dissatisfaction earlier so that he could have brought us something else. I also experienced a stomachache immediately after eating. Furthermore, the menu was unclear about the pricing. It stated that the dish was for two people and listed the price as 45 Euros, but only in small print did it indicate “p.p.” (per person). As a result, we ended up paying 90 Euros for a rib roast that was mostly fat and some of the chewiest meat I...
