La Cocotte — Restaurant in Rotterdam

My wife and I were looking for a place for a nice dinner near Hoogvliet tonight. Google suggested La Cocotte. I looked at the reservation page and there were options open the entire evening, so we did not reserve as we would be there within 15 min. Walked in and were immediately informeren that they were completely full as they had a large group for a party, and the few a la carte tables (in the serre - the entire restaurant was closed for the party) were already reserved. I commented that this was odd as I had just seen plenty of openings online. Response was that they had just closed all openings in the online system. So, do they seriously want me to believe that they did not know until 15 min prior that they were having a big party there that would occupy the entire restaurant? Ok, next time (if there is a next time) I will make sure I have reserved before going there, but this is not how one should treat...

Good food and very friendly service. Staff is super nice, they have menu's in english and waiters are fluent in this language. Only downside is that the service can be a bit slow and prices on some items are on the steep side (5€ for one round bread and butter, granted it was good quality, but still), other than that, a very good option if you are in the...

T-bone steak was extraordinary in the Menu. The taste ,how it was cooked and also the quality of the meat was always the best, and we ordered that all the time. Unfortunately, that was removed from the Menu. If you could kindly take T-bone steak and also Italian Burata salad back to the menu, make everything just as perfect as the past....
