Went to visit this place with my two kids today to offer them some play time while it was raining. I called ahead to inquire about the difference between the three establishments they advertise with on their website as it is a bit confusing what is what. Friendly lady told me about the differences. This place, Krekeltje, is the playground combined with a petting zoo and a small restaurant. I asked about the entrance fee and she said for Krekeltje it was 2 euros and you only pay for your kids, not for adults. Basically same as was written on their website. So we decided to head on over there and 30 minutes after my call we arrived. We were greeted by a young man who told us the entrance fee was 3 euro per kid due to a Corona increase of 1 euro per person. Super weird. So I mentioned I just called them and it was mentioned the entrance fee was 2 euro, like their website still shows at this moment. He didn't care and it was three euros anyway. Now I have to admit 3 euros is still cheap for what you get but it's still super odd to be told one thing on the phone and advertise with the same on your own website and then when you arrive at this place relatively in the middle of nowhere that the price goes up with 150%. That's just nasty.

Anyhow, the place itself looks a bit old but looks quite well maintained. Fresh paint on everything. The indoor playground is quite well sized and could use some maintenance on worn off protection covers which can be found all over the place. The steep slide has two dangerous screws sticking out with no cover over it at all anymore. Also the air jump castle is placed on a concrete floor and has relatively low sides. Imagine kids climbing on to the side and falling over it landing on the concrete floor next to it. Has happened recently somewhere else in The Netherlands, had caused a fatality of a young kid and has since become forbidden to be placed in such a way. Look after your kids and warn them not to climb the sides. The Xbox 360s they advertise with on their website were both broken. Same for the two tvs to watch kids movies on. Restaurant inside has a bit of a nasty greasy smell.

Prices for food and drinks are on the higher side but can be explained to make up for the low entrance fees. Petting zoo looked okay. I read about the negative reviews on how the animals are being looked after. I agree some of them are left without food and the chickens are placed in relatively small cages. Other than that it looked okay to me. They don't obey any COVID19 rules other than having a hand sanitizer at the entrance. Tables are cramped up to each other, paths too narrow to keep proper distance. Kids however enjoyed themselves for a couple of hours here.

Giving it a 4 out of 5 due to the low entrance fees which makes up for all the...

Have to say is nice playground and restaurant in one place. Food is more than enough (we didn't finish our portions, they are huge !) and really tasty! Prices are perfect and entree for kidos is only 3euro. We had a fabulous day there, is for young kidos not teenagers.

👍👍👍 Ps: 't krekeltje is rolstoel vriendelijk.
