Restaurant 't Hoogt — Restaurant in Soest

Good food, good service, nice place, includes chillten playground on terrace which is very uncommon for dutch restaurants but a God sent to toddler mothers wanting some peaceful moments while eating, chatting with a friend or enjoying a cup of coffee under the shade of a fig tree. But they went beyond it by offering a gnome walk that each parent can do with its kid dressed up with a gnome hat and carrying a stick and package with tasks to learn to treasure nature through the woods behind the restaurant. Mine loved it and I got much needed exercise without exhausting me after the meal. In the package there is a little something for a break and after the walk the kid gets a personaluzed diploma about the completion. Another plus: it has gluten free bread available for all its sandwiches and other meals. Only disappointment is that tge walk booklet is only available in dutch. But do not let that deter you. Just follow the marked path and find the knones in the right order according to their names on the wooden figures and the names in the booklet and just make up your own story...

Half empty place yet didn't want to seat us as we didn't have reservations. We were party of 5 with one young child. So we asked if they could seat us as 4 which they did. ?? Child sat on my lap but we saw a bunch of high chairs which we asked for one and the waitress was confused but allowed us to get one. What kind of weird service is this? Empty table near us got filled up when rain started and a group wanted to sit indoors. I guess common sense and customer service is a rarity in this part of the country....

Stars because the food was decent and kid friendly park nearby but the much touted playground wasn't that interesting for...

It’s the second time that I’m eating in this lovely restaurant. Last year was with my friend from Seattle, US and this time with my friends from London with their children. The reservation was smooth and extremely friendly. The restaurant has a huge parking spot and it’s location on the hill is beautiful. The food was delicious, the prices are reasonable and the service made us feel as we’re eating at a family home. Officiant and kind.
