Overall, my experience at this restaurant was okay 👍🏼. Some of the dishes, like the Barg, were very good, but others were just okay. Unfortunately, we had a bit of a wait at the beginning as the waitresses forgot that we hadn't placed our order yet. After ordering, we were informed that they didn't have any mast-o-moosir left. They offered to bring us two mast-o-khiar instead, but we ended up receiving one mast-o-khiar and a salad shirazi, which we hadn't requested. Surprisingly, we were charged for these items as well, even though we didn't order them. 🤦‍♂️

Another issue was that one of the waitresses (wearing an overall that day) told us that the rice was complimentary and came with the meal when I inquired about the cost of an extra plate of rice 🍚. To my surprise, after leaving the restaurant, I discovered that we were charged for four plates of rice, even though we only ate three and left one untouched.

When it came time for dessert, we wanted ice cream, but instead of giving us the flavors we requested, the owner insisted on serving us a selection plate with various ice cream flavors 🍦. Unfortunately, two of the flavors went to waste and were thrown away afterwards. I can't recall whether we were charged for all of them or not, but the main issue was the unnecessary waste.

We also ordered a Kabab-torsh and were informed that it would take an additional 20 minutes to prepare. We agreed to wait, but were surprised when it arrived within five minutes. However, the meat was undercooked and still red .

On a positive note, this is the only Iranian restaurant in Utrecht, and they had traditional Iranian seating called "takhts," which added to the authentic ambiance, despite the restaurant being located in what seemed like a community center. The waitstaff, especially the waitress with a headscarf, had a positive attitude and were friendly and helpful.

Overall, if you're in Utrecht, it's worth a visit. I do hope that the restaurant can address the issues I mentioned so they can become more successful.

One last suggestion: it would be helpful if they displayed a "Halal" sign somewhere, as it wasn't immediately apparent, and I had to inquire about the halal status of the food before deciding...

The stuff was very kind and helpful.

The atmosphere is a bit unexpected. On one side there are phone repairers, on the other side buurtcentrum plus church and then this restaurant without a door in between.

When it comes to the food, you can find different types of meal which you can't find easily in the Netherlands. But, I can't say they were as delicious as i expected. There wasn't enough meat inside the main dish, for ex. Also the price is on the high end.

I'll give them another try on a Saturday as it's...

Positive: The host (restaurant owners) are amazing couple, kind & professional. The quality of main food (we had Sultani & Kebab Tursh) was great. Rice portion size was small but we asked for extra portion & that was OK.

Negative: The starter was priced pretty high for the portion size. We had Mirza Ghasemi & Kashk Bademjooj, both were small size for €10 per dish.

Overall the quality of food is good but you don’t expect to pay that price for the location of restaurant and type...
