It was a horrible experience. I booked the room in this hotel based on information that it is wheelchair accessible. When I made the reservation I left the comment that I move in wheelchair and that in might be the case that I'll come late at night. When Icame at 01:30 am, the door to the hottel was closed and no one from the stuff was inside. This is the first thing that alerted me. I believe that hotel services differ from Airbnb's in that they have a 24/7 service. Someone from the staff should always be inside in case of a fire or other emergency. When I called the hotel on the phone, a woman answered me in an angry voice. She scolded me for arriving late and said that she will arrive by car in 5 minutes. When she arrived, her first words were in a rude tone: "How are you going to go up to the 2nd floor because we do not have an elevator?" She didn’t care that at the time of booking I didn’t see which floor I was booking on. She was not interested in the fact that on the information page about the rooms there is nowhere indicated which of the rooms is accesable for a wheelchair user. When I asked her to return the money, she said that she had no money for our booking, that the money is with Booking.com and I shouldn't contact them. She said the name of another hotel and just turned around and drove away leaving me on the street in the middle of the night. But that's not all. When I contacted the booking.com support service, explained my whole situation, support contacted her hey and received false information from her. The hostess said that I arrived an hour later than it actually was. She said that she gave my room to someone else. How is this even possible if I have paid for the room I have the right to use it until the end of the time of my booking. How can it be passed on to someone else? It is very strange. She deceived the support service said that a room on the first floor was ready for me, although in fact when we arrived she said that she had no idea that I was moving in a wheelchair and that I could not walk up the stairs. All her words are deceit. As a result, she even refused to return the money that Booking.com sent her. Read moreWe arrived in the evening and were handed a set of keys, told where room was and times of breakfast "thank you and good night". Almost impossible to manhandle baggage in hallway and stairs dues to 4 mountain bikes being parked there (see photo) - surely a fire hazard ? Room was with shared bathroom, with 4 rooms on the 2nd floor plus more on the 1st floor, the bathroom is shared with perhaps as many as 12 people or more, so getting the use of the bathroom was very much a hit and miss affair. No wash hand basin in room and toilet in bathroom meant that everything had to done in the 1 single bathroom !! Best to get a room with own en suite bathroom to avoid delays !! Only 1 bathroom towel supplied, virtually no soap anywhere, good job we brought our own, no hairdryer in room. Breakfast was served at the table and consisted of a bread roll, 1 croissant, 1 or 2 slices brown bread, hard boiled egg, some ham and cheese, yogurt, orange juice, butter and jam. More than enough and choice of tea, coffee etc. Hotel does close at 9pm so if you want a drink or late night snack you need to cross the road to the hotel - cafe there for that. Read moreDe vrouw die 's ochtends het ontbijt voor haar rekening neemt (de eigenares, heb ik me laten vertellen) is erg boertig en onvriendelijk. Ze weet duidelijk niet wat gastvrijheid inhoudt. Het ontbijt wordt tussen 8u00 en 10u00 geserveerd. Toen we om 9u33 wilden aanschuiven voor het ontbijt, gaf ze ons een uitbrander dat we te laat waren en had ze alles al weggeruimd. Na een korte discussie gaf ze dan met veel tegenzin een karig ontbijt - waaronder, naast twee croissaints, uitgedroogd brood en kruidkoeken die over datum waren... Een totaal gebrek aan flexibiliteit, inzicht én klantvriendelijkheid. De omgeving is prachtig en leent zich tot zalig lange wandelingen. Ik raad alleen aan ergens anders te verblijven, dan kan deze humeurige vrouw je dag alvast niet "verpesten" ;-).
Andere puntjes: We moesten erg lang wachten bij hen inchecken, terwijl we eigenlijk enkel de sleutel van de kamer moesten afhalen. Daarbij werd er ook heel weinig informatie verstrekt. Zo wisten we bijvoorbeeld niet dat de keuken op zaterdag al om 21u00 sluit en er daar een uur later eigenlijk amper nog iets te beleven was. Ook duurde het twee avonden op rij erg lang voor we konden bestellen in het restaurant.
We hebben hier twee dagen gelogeerd en ook twee avonden op rij gegeten. Zo hebben we de tapa's en het stoofpotje geproefd. We werden niet weggeblazen door het eten: alles was overdreven zoet, de tapa's leken ons ook niet vers bereid en de kwaliteit was gewoon slecht. We hebben de tapa's dan ook met tegenzin opgegeten, terwijl we normaal gezien echt liefhebbers zijn van de Spaanse en Caribische gerechten.
