My girlfriend and I stayed in Ilpendam for a few days over the summer. Its a lovely little village 15 minutes outside of Amsterdam. This restraunt was where we had coffee every morning before catching the bus into town. Its a local spot for sure and they will know you are from out of town and they will make you feel welcome. Don't expect anyone to speak English to you, its not because they are rude, its just not their native language, they do have a young woman who works in the evenings whose English is very good. But I cannot say enough good things about this diner. We ate dinner one night with all the locals and learned to play 3 ball billiards from the regulars. The food is absolutely amazing, but don't over order, whatever you order will be more than enough food. Pro tip. Don't order from the bar, sit at a table and wait for them to come to you....

A quaint pub and café in the centre of the village Ilpendam. Though there is little to do in the town, this establishment is mostly open.

The atmosphere is quintessential Dutch. The rustic atmosphere makes you feel at home, and the kind locals help you in Dutch or English.

There are a variety of beers and alcoholic beverages, but also non alcoholic drinks, soda pop, (ice) tea and coffee, as well as a variety of food options.

We enjoyed the deep fried duck delights (kroket, frikandel) but also a tosti with salmon, homemade onion soup (I recommend this) and a few menu options for young children.

If you ever find yourself in this quaint little village, a little South of Amsterdam, this is a lovely...

Very nice village cafe, I would not expect the menu to be that extensive and creative! The stuff is kind and welcoming, there were a lot of elderly people playing cards inside. They also have old slot machines inside. This all makes you feel cozy in there! Tosti with brie and apple syrup and nuts are amazing. Chicken soup is also nice. The pancakes with apples were a bit too bland and oily, so wouldn't recommend that one. Overall, it's a great place, especially...

Super nostalgic atmosphere. Super friendly wait staff. Food was pretty rough though. Not only was it not very tasty to us but we had food poisoning when we ate lunch here and were down for the rest of the day. Not sure if the food wasn’t tasty because it was bad or it may be because it’s food we are not used to but wouldn’t recommend for that reason only.
