Sweet Lake Italy — Restaurant in Zoetermeer

Horrible place. We had to wait 15 minutes for waitresses to bring as a menu, as no one came to us and when you wave with hand they just ignored like they do not see you. Not accepted such treatment. In the end menu was brought by the manager. After this it took another 15 minutes till we could order and again my husband has to walk to a waitress because no one came to us to take an order. Ridiculous. We ordered calamari and in the menu was written 8 pcs and we assumed it is a calamari ring which our kids love and eat in every restaurant we go and in the end they brought crunchy overcooked calamari small like 20 pieces of 1-2.5 cm, of course kids did not want to eat it. Advise here do not mention 8 pcs and put different description. The top of why we gave 1 star (if we could we would give 0!) we ordered ice tea green for our small kid and normally ice tea served in a glass bottle and separate glass with ice and sometimes lemon on the side of the glass. They brought glass with lemon and ice inside the glass which already was filled with ice tea ( have no idea from where this ice tea came from a bottle or tap or anything else). We told our kid cannot handle lemon he is small so please bring another glass without lemon and they took it away and surprisingly within a minute came back. When my kid started drinking he told it is disgusting and taste lemon and when we looked inside the glass there was pit from a lemon inside. What waitress did she simply took away lemon (maybe even with the hand which we do not know but seeing the service we would not be surprised) and brought us back same glass. Sorry this is not okay as taste of lemon which was inside still there. Disgusting what they did. We asked waitress what is this and explained it is not okay and if our kid has allergie and you do so? She even did not apologize and just took glass and finally brought us a new glass of ice tea. We will never ever be again back to this horrible place. Service is 0 and waitress...

We were in this restaurant in the summer of 2022. The staff did not pay attention to us at all. We waited a long time for the waiter (more than an hour) but at least the terrace is nice and we spent time there in nice weather. After another hour we had to order a second time because our first order was missing in the system and they forgot about us. Waiting again. After we finally got our pizza, we didn't get to eat it because the waitress spilled beer on our plates. The service offered us a new pizza but we didn't want to waste any more time there. After more than 3 hours we left hungry and dissatisfied but we didn't leave any comment at that time because our bill was canceled and we didn't pay. This summer (2023) we tried again. Again very long waiting time. 3 people from the staff stood together and talked without paying attention to the guests of the restaurant. We took the menu card ourselves. The pizza arrived warm and fresh but empty as there were few ingredients on it. Around us there were dirty tables with dishes and leftovers of food, which the staff did not clean up after people leaving. This was the second and probably last visit to this place.

We do not recommend it, although the decor and the terrace are pleasant. Such a nice place in a good location has potential but what is needed is friendly and efficient staff instead of this slow and...

Pros: This restaurant has a great view of a lake, a nice soft breeze, and a large outdoor playground for children. These are the only reasons why I give this restaurant 1 star.

Cons: The customer service is TERRIBLE. We had an older female waitress (with pink hair) who complained about every request we made. When we asked the waitress to clean our table, she complained that we had moved tables. (Our first table had bird poop on it). We had to ask the waitress two times to clean our table, the 2nd table had sticky wet slime on it. (see photo) She had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to clean the table myself. (I don't work at the restaurant. It's her job.)

When our food arrived, we asked her for napkins and utensils and again she complained, “Why didn’t you ask me for this when you ordered your food?” It is basic customer service to bring utensils and napkins to the table when eating a meal, especially one that includes salad.

This restaurant clearly doesn’t care about customer service and at least this waitress is RUDE. This waitress should not be in a client-facing role. If you’re looking for a restaurant by a lake in Zoetermeer, try going to De Beren. The menu is better as is...
