Benny's Again Restaurant — Restaurant in Canterbury

Attended a wedding dinner. Atmosphere and environment was very welcoming. I would say that I found the restaurant very relaxing and the staff were just amazing.

The food is to die for. Presented so well you just can’t wait to dive in. Everything I tried was cooked to perfection complimented with the freshest sides I have experienced in some time. One could almost assume the salad was freshly picked from the garden.

The portions are very respectable and definitely good value for money.

There is parking at the rear of the premises, but this is limited so be prepared to park on the street at busy times. On this occasion they were hosting two wedding receptions with around 100 people dining. parking exceeded my perception of accessibility. Less than a 100m walk.

A wide variety of refreshments are available including alcoholic beverages. Usual payment methods: cash, credit card, eftpos are accepted.

The convenience rooms are spacious, clean, and well kept. I would rate them as comparable to what you would expect to find in a 3-4 star hotel.

I would have rated the atmosphere as a 5, but on my visit, I just found the volume of people generated a little more noise from conversations than I would have liked. Otherwise I think it would be fair to say on a typical night 5 out of 5 would apply.

Located pretty much in central Timaru, it is less than 5 minutes drive from most motels and up to 20-30 minute walk if taking in the environment is your thing.

Took our brother here cause we had a wicked lunch session a while ago, was told by waiter we couldn't order anything that we had had before on lunch menu (Burgers and Steak meals we got last time) Fair enough so we ordered what we had to work with. Brother ordered chicken filo meal which tasted like Chinese fastfood EGG FU YUNG minus the onions and salt wrapped in paper lol honestly $29 meal and he was shattered it was yuck. Told by another waiter after meal when we mentioned the distasteful Chinese knock off that we could have ordered burger meals. SMH now we cant go back there cause our brothers meal was that bad he doesnt ever want to go back. No remedy was offered, reply was "we've had that on the menu for 100 years" Yeah might be time to move on to bigger better...

First impressions were very good. Restaurant looked spacious and clean and the service was fast and friendly. The steak when it came was just as ordered. Well done yet not tough. Scallops however were dark brown when they arrived at the table. As suspected they were dry in sore need of the aioli they came with. Having waited nearly 40 mins for the food to come and knowing there was a large table sitting behind us I was reluctant to return the scallops as I didn’t want another long wait.
