Do you know about the Better Half Restaurant in Leithfield SH1...we dined tonight at The Better Half Restaurant in Leithfield. This place is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a friendly smile. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a romantic night out or a gathering with friends.
The menu was simply amazing, featuring a variety of dishes that are sure to please any palate. The flavours were spot on, and each dish was prepared to perfection. The Blue Cod was a standout for me, with its perfectly cooked smashed potatoes (beyond perfect) and succulent Buttermilk Chicken Burger and those heavenly smashed potatoes (again). The deserts were to die for....the Lemon Cheesecake accompanied by a delicious lemon curd sauce and ice cream and the Sticky Date pudding. Spectacular.
In addition to the amazing food, the service was top-notch. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and was attentive to our needs throughout the meal. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient, making sure that our dining experience was nothing short of excellent.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Better Half Restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The food and service were simply amazing, and I can't wait to come back and try more dishes! We were totally surprised and impressed. The photos don't do it justice. Thank you, Tim, for a...
Read moreHave to give a very mixed review here. Firstly the room was really cold. The fire was going but big double doors left open the whole time. We were all rubbing our legs saying how cold we were. That was worsened by the one hour wait for lunch. We were a table of 7 and there was another table of 6, and a few people dotted outside so not even a busy day. No one checked on us during the wait, apologised or offered drinks. Then some meals came to our table but they then left the rest and served the other table who had ordered well after us. Some of our table had almost finished before the other meals arrived. Generally the food was really nice - amazing ribs - but one of the first and last meals were both very cold. They mixed the bills between the tables and we were charged for their beer. We were also charged for Bundaberg ginger beer but I think it was a syrup mix. To end the experience, I was midway through using the loo when I discovered there was no toilet paper. We weren’t offered coffee or dessert. Left thinking it could’ve been a 10/10 but unsure if I’d return. One of our party was planning a group trip of 24, but decided the restaurant isnt equipped for it. If you wear a lot of clothing, be prepared for a wait, check your bill & take your own toilet paper, I’m sure you’ll find the food...
Read moreUpdate** Like I said, our seating was at 1.45pm, therefore the tail end of lunch (you stated 200 guests between 1-2pm). So by the time we ordered and got our food, it was well after the busy time had ended and was cleared out inside.
The salad, as I said, had extra Salmon added to it which is an additional $8. Therefore $33. But it was a stingey salad either way.
Schnitzel normally isnt paper thin with a near burnt crumb.
Do better
*Original post Father's day lunch- I get its a busy day. But our booking at 1.45pm was the tail end of lunch and inside was pretty much empty by the time we ordered.
Sister ordered coffee as she arrived. 1 hr 15 later she gets it.
Only one drink order was taken at the start. In the hour between waiting for our meals, Noone came to give us a jug of water let alone take drink orders.
Asked for kids meal to come out quickly- it came out as one of the last meals.
The food was a mix. My summer salad, $35 was terrible. A few leaves amongst mostly hard cooked walnut clumps and the "extra" smoked Salmon was about 5 tiny shreds of salmon. 2x schnitzel came out like a crispy cracker.
Great to have 2 bouncy castles for kids.
Really...
