Recently attended a wedding here and as I am getting married too next year thought it would be great to see what they have to offer. All I have come away with is what NOT to do and what I don't want. The wedding was stunning, largely due to the Bride and Groom being the focus and the outdoor area was charming. However when arriving there is a sterile reception area, which later somehow becomes the bar. It was snowing and bitterly cold out so would be a great opportunity to light the log burner and create a wonderful atmosphere, but didn't happen. After the ceremony and heading back inside, drinks were difficult to gain, and limited to a few wines, watered down spirits and mixers were seriously watered down too and not served in front of you, but charged at standard hotel rates. Bad ethics. The meal was disgusting where these couples are paying $60+ per head, it was very small amount, a sliver of chicken and, under cooked beef, no where near enough for responsible host conscious people where alcohol is served and to top it all off there were slices made by guests scattered around and the guests were unaware they were welcome to help themselves, as there was no service. Over all I was disgusted as were all I spoke too and have spoken too since. One other thing we thought was a possibly further improvement, this places access is unlit and difficult to make your way back to your vehicle, over a shabby car park and also no service to get people home and this would certainly be of benefit. Would never recommend this place as a venue or to even somewhere to go for an event...

I flew over from Melbourne to celebrate my 60th birthday with friends and family, looking forward to a special day. The food was tasty but some of us found the portions were very small and the food slow in coming out, some had already eaten by the time others were getting their meals, (there were only 2 others in the restaurant beside my party of 14) My plate was served to me with vegetables missing, when I queried it I was told they had run out, would make up some more and bring them out to me, they never appeared, when I mentioned it to the manageress I was gobsmacked by her attitude and lack of concern. The strangest thing for us all would have to have been that my sister had gone out of her way to have a lovely big cake made for me, they would not under any circumstances let us bring that inside the restaurant, (we ended up having some of it out of the boot of the car in their car park)
They allowed fourteen dissatisfied customers to leave that day without a word or care. I have always been under the impression when working in the hospitality trade, a good atmosphere and customer satisfaction is your number one priority and also your best advertisement. Not one of us would go back or recommend Melton...
Read moreWe had a really disappointing experience for our Mum's 70th birthday lunch. We were grouped together in a dining room with a 21st birthday party. The group were extremely intoxicated and loud, we couldn't really hear anything other than drunken chanting. We tried to remedy the situation when we were there but were told there was no where else to sit. I also mentioned at the end that we were not impressed and that they should not have taken our booking. We sent an email to the owner & restaurant manager and she told us that the 21st booking was not what they had anticipated and they were disgusted with their behavior. However, as hosts it is their responsibility to manage intoxication and while we were there the guests were continually served alcohol and ate no food and their behavior was never managed. She did apologise and added "we hope to see you again so that we can provide a better dining experience". I have no idea why she would think we would ever come back, don't think they are that bothered and this is just their standard cut and...
