McDonalds Yaldhurdst — Restaurant in Christchurch

We would like to complain about the quality of the food we received from McDonald's Yaldhurst today. We visited the drive-in and ordered 2 Angus beef combos. We asked for two small coffees instead of soft drink. We were travelling onto the West Coast so thought Yaldhurst for lunch would be a good option. Imagine our disgust when we stopped just up the main road to find: (a) the coffees were large; they were cold. We'd asked for small. (b) the hamburgers were cold, the patties were over their limit - cold; tasteless- yuk! How were we to recognise Angus beef in your burgers if it resembles cardboard. (c) the chips were cold - incredibly disappointing because if all else fails, McDonald's chips are a meal saviour. So our experience of Yaldhurst McDonald's was the worse ever and we have often stopped there on our way to the West Coast. Obviously, we cannot return to complain but hope this letter explains our disquiet at your meal quality. The worst McDonalds experience. Came in with my grandson to eat and play. Discovered the playground had a spill over the first steps and wall… looked like a spilt (dried) drink. When I ordered the food I nicely alerted the lady in a grey shirt (supervisor?) and asked if they could wipe the area. She hesitated and looked very uninterested, then said the maintenance person was currently on a break. So I said that’s fine I’ll just wait. After 15 minutes no one came so I went to the car and got my own wet wipes so I could clean it myself. Oh my gosh, it didn’t look like the area had been cleaned for a while. Gross. Pretty poor that the customer has to do the cleaning. Food was very average too. Everything is filthy here including the tables. After 30 mins still no cleaning action on the playground. Went through the drive through tonight at 7:20 (27/10) and got amazing friendly and professional service from a lovely pacifica lady named Tida. She even asked if I wanted steamed buns (I have never been asked this, ever) We ordered a few combos but the kitchen forgot the happy meal (things happen you can’t always get it right) We didn’t realise till driving back and turned around to go through the drive through again. Tida was apologetic in the drive through and ensured that we got the happy meal made nice and hot. While we were waiting at the order window she was interacting with our 2 year old girl in the backseat and gave her a sticker and colouring book. Apparently also one of the staff members was trying to run after my car as I was leaving the drive through initially so I got the missing happy meal.
