Phoebe Rose Coffee Roaster — Restaurant in Hamilton

I have been ordering coffee beans for my espresso machine from Phoebe Rose for nearly a year now - and I can honestly say that it is probably the best coffee that I have ever had, even as an ex-Melbournian and as an Aucklander. Our roasters in Auckland are good, but they don’t quite compare to Phoebe Rose.

Incredible value for money.

The beans always come so quickly and I am always given extra. So much extra that I had to push pause on my monthly subscription to get through all the beans!

In terms of bean flavour - I have never experienced such a variety in freshly roasted beans. From the florality of the “Sweet and Punchy blend” to the richness of “Ben’s Blend”.

If there is any small business that you should support in these tough times, you should support this one. You guys...

I tried the Krakatau beans and I'm sorry to report they were the worst beans I've ever had. Even with the lowest grind size and over-packing my portafilter by 3g, I still get poor extraction. I had 3 cups and barely felt any hit from them, and the beans themselves are strangely large, like 2x the size of the next largest bean I've seen. They don't smell much like coffee either, they kind of have a roast dinner smell when grinding them. Its a pity because I really like the resealable packaging, clean website, quick delivery, so gave +1 star, but at the end of the day its the beans that matter and I won't be ordering them from...

The team is super knowledgeable and helpful, and their passion for coffee shines through in every ‘Cup of Joe’.
