Marion’s — Restaurant in Hawke's Bay

As a visitor to this region, my friends took me here for a drink. Upon entry we went to the bar, the barman stood there and simply looked at us, he did not even bother to say hello. We ordered some snack meals, when delivered we did ask if they were bringing the 2nd one out as we ordered 2, We were politely informed that both were on the same plate, $20 for 6 bite of 1 thing, 6 bites of another, and 1/4 scoop of chips... My friends being local to the Hawkes Bay were even embarrassed with the poor service etc, and said even they won't go back let alone take visitors. This is one bar that has forgotten what hospitality is...

My partner and I visited the region on the weekend and were doing the Takaro Trails bike ride and winery tour. We stopped for lunch at the fish and chip shop next door and having been biking for an hour needed to go to the toilet. We thought we would walk in to this bar and kindly ask to use their restroom as we couldn't see a public toilet and I instantly got shut down and got told I didn't even look old enough to be in there (My partner and I are 21 and 22). Mind you we didn't even have the chance to show our ID OR buy anything. We were shocked at the rude behaviour of this place and don't recommend it for anyone...

Absolutely appalled by the way you treated a patron at your bar for leaving his stuff outside. Commentig that you are "not his mother" and throwing his stuff over the table with it landing on the floor. He didnt do anything to instigate it and quite frankly didnt deserve it. Total...
