Red Bridge Coffee — Restaurant in Hawke's Bay

We were in the Bay for work and to tick off another parkrun but thought we'd take our bikes in case we had spare time for a ride and the weather played ball. After checking all the many trails around Hawkes Bay, we settled on the Tuki Tuki Loop as one we could achieve in an afternoon and thought we'd enjoy. But where to start since it was a sloop. Once we found Red Bridge Coffee on Google Maps and discovered they also had food, we knew it was going to be our midway point. And what a great decisions it was too. Great ride out was complimented with great drinks and great food looked after by friendly chatty staff who gave banter as good as they received. Once recognised as a MAINLANDER I was challenged not to believe the hype that their Southern Cheese Rolls were better than the real thing. And just between you and I, they were if I'm honest. This is a great place. We visited the area for the weekend and came here so many times. It is just a container near a river but so much more! The coffee is to die for, the snacks we're fresh and so so tasty. But the best thing about this place was not the coffee, not the food, not the location which is incredible, but the lovely lovely people that work there. They were so helpful, really good at what they do and so genuine. My recommendation is the date scone, trim flat white, and to sit out by the field. We’ve been coming to Red Bridge since it opened, and we’ve never been disappointed. Mel and the team are so welcoming and friendly, and most importantly, the coffee is always superb! The cabinet selection is fantastic - I can’t go past the ham and cheese toastie and a sweet treat (of which there are many). We love to park up on the lawn and enjoy our treats.
