Invito Fusion Restaurant — Restaurant in Invercargill City

Have been to Invito 3 other times and recommended this restaurant to others. Food has previously been good. Service is always lacking though and wait times are annoying. Went back for bday dinner a couple of nights ago. Wanted a cocktail and meal to celebrate with my friend. They didn't have any pineapple juice but staff went and got some for us. They way the server spoke to us was quite rude. I said we would think about going elsewhere as the cocktail was part of the experience (and the service was subpar) and he said he would run down and get pineapple juice which he needed for it so we ended up staying.

Ordered 2 entree and 2 mains. OMG chicken and spring rolls. Chicken was a bit pink but I thought it could have been a marinade and was mostly just crucnchy batter. We ate it anyway. Spring rolls are not freshly made so very average. Beef noodles were mushy (should be slightly chewy) and tasted metallic we didn't eat this dish but were still charged. Chicken dish was good.

20mins after getting home my friend and I found ourselves moved into the bathroom vomiting and the runs. I have called the restaurant to give them an opportunity to remedy. They said they have never had this problem before and the spice on the chicken is very strong (it wasnt) and it was us that couldnt handle it. I had made a reservation 2 days prior to visiting Invito through their website. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, we were told that there was no reservation under our name. After showing the confirmation email, they reluctantly seated us at a table.

We had specifically requested a reservation for 6.30pm as we were with an infant and did not want to interfere with his nap time. Unfortunately, we were left waiting for 30 minutes without any service or even a highchair for the baby or some water. This was extremely disappointing, and we were left feeling frustrated and let down.

To add to our disappointment, the front of house manager, who appeared to be in charge, did not seem to care about our situation. Instead of apologizing or offering any assistance, he appeared to be uninterested and disengaged from the situation.

We have been loyal customers of Invito since the day they opened and even brought my mother, who was visiting New Zealand, to try the food that we raved about. However, due to the poor service and lack of care shown to us, we had to leave without even a drop of water. This was a huge letdown and we will not be returning to Invito in the future.

Overall, our experience at Invito was extremely disappointing, and we cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a pleasant and attentive...

Went to dine there last week for my friend’s bday which was his and I’s first time being there. We ordered up to the counter and when we finished ordering, the waitress didn’t repeat our order and seemed very unsure with what she’s doing. We didn’t get seated either. After ordering, we didnt even get asked if we wanted any drinks or even water! Food took a while to come out too and when my friend ordered her chicken meal, there was a strand of hair stuck on the side of the plate. After giving two of the meals we ordered, I had to keep waiting for mine as it hasn’t arrived yet and when we asked how long it would take, the waitress said that she didnt realise I ordered that meal too and when she brough it out back, they couldnt make it for me as kitchen was closed. And at this point, still no water was given or offered! I dont know if she was new or not but really need to work on customer service. Definitely the first and last...
