This cafe has been good for food and drink. Adding chips to the menu would be nice, but I'm more peeved at the amount of throth in yesterday's hot chocolate. After spooning it out the eventual actual hot chocolate was only half a cup. As per the photo.

Cheerful service person. Food was normal cafe type food, more than adequate. Coffee was a good strength. There was an obvious problem with people not getting their orders. Everything has to be ordered at the counter, no helping yourself to the cabinet.... That's okay, except once paid for, the item ordered is not taken out of the cabinet and taken to the customer. We had to ask for an item we ordered, so did two of our immediate neighbours. Be mindful of this, otherwise it is a lovely...

Situated along SH2 north of Masterton in the Pukaha wildlife centre. You do not have to enter the wildlife centre to use this cafe. The staff were friendly and it was busy. They serve hot food toasted sandwiches and fries to mention a few and homemade cookies.Nice local kawakawa tea with ginger and lemongrass.Coffee was weak. You can sit outside and watch the native birds but beware the kaka do approach you for food and there is a spray bottle to warn them away as they are...

There aren't many cafes in New Zealand with an atmosphere like this. A beautiful place to stop & refresh, if traveling this highway.

At the time of visiting about 2.30pm, they were a bit light on what hot foods were available, but we weren't there for a pie. The Croissants with ham & cheese were delicious. ...
