My partner and I went in for the first time today for Valentineās lunch while our son was at school hehe and it could not been more perfect!! Let me start by saying that the staff here are absolutely lovely! The woman who served us (sorry whaea I didnāt catch your name) was an absolute joy to be greeted by and there was a man there too who may have been a manager/DJ hehe, he was also lovely and even gave us a free refill on our drinks because there was a little wait for the food. We didnāt mind the wait because when the food came out it was soo good!! My partner got the Whataburger and it was huge! The Pattieās seemed to be homemade , they were juicy and the bun perfectly toasted. I got the steak meal and my steak was cooked to perfection and soo tender that even when I was full I still ate the rest because I couldnāt help it lol and we got the fettuccine to share which got high marks from both of us but especially my partner because he said it tastes exactly like mine that I make! And I agree, I might like this one better though because no cooking or dishes hehe All in all a great food spot for big or small groups! comfy chairs, great air flow, good music and most of all AMAZING food with huge portions!! We will definitely be coming again!! Soo good to find another local hidden gem. Thank you all for today! See you again...

Not greasy at all, good ingredients, hot and crispy. We had the back area to ourselves, including an open outside area that was toasty warm even in mid-century thanks to some impressively powerful rafter heaters. And the gal that looked after us was warm, friendly and super helpful. Birthday boy told me the bar had gone through a bit of a revamp lately and it sure...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA whole lot of changes made to the tavern. Wow I felt a lot of memories when back in the ol days. I remember a really tall as guy slept in the back room of the pub and such a gentle guy he was, also the whanau that was the hotel's locals always singing, guitar playing, going from Ohakune to Raetihi pub doing the rounds. The Lim whanau, Chee, Sue's, Tuhura, Tehuia,Greens,Tamatea, and much more. If I could see a face from the past and knowingly we could catch up on the ol days this would...
