i found this place through recommendations from people on reddit, and i followed them on Facebook. i was impressed with their weekly special burgers so i missioned it over there. i ordered the standard cheeseburger with extra pickles and added red onion, and a chips with aioli. there's a table outside the shop so i sat down to eat in. they bought my food out to me which was good. the portion of chips was great for $4, an overflowing chip cup in a bag, nice fresh fries. i liked that they had four choices of seasoning for the chips, and their aioli was great. the burger was okay, it is better than you'd expect from a takeaways shop, it was good but i wouldn't call it amazing. for the price it was fine, meat patties a good size, and being an onion lover i liked the sauteed onions on it. however there may have been a miscommunication as i didn't get any extra red onions on it. the added pickles were there and great pickles! i felt it was a bit heavy on the sauce, and the bun is a standard supermarket/tiptop type bun. the prices are pretty reasonable so im not faulting them on their food, just giving my thoughts. i liked how many options they had, from hot dogs to fish n chips to burgers to marinated rawfish and more. something for everyone. i think it's a good place for a reasonably priced feed, but if you're looking for something really special, go elsewhere (and spend more money haha) cheers to the team at big jays

I recently visited this local burger joint after being away for a couple of weeks, craving a good burger. I found the place through a referral and was eager to give it a try. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, reminiscent of a mom and pop establishment, which I really appreciated. Parking was a bit limited, and there were only a couple of tables to dine in, but it seemed more geared towards takeout, which I understood. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the menu was clearly displayed on the wall. We ordered loaded fries, a mushroom burger, a chicken sandwich, and a calamari and jalapeno burger. The loaded fries looked appetizing, and I asked for the bacon to be substituted with ground beef. However, I was a bit disappointed to find the bottom layer of fries bare. The burgers were decent, but the buns fell apart as we ate, which affected the overall experience. The chicken sandwich was crispy but a bit dry; however, the fries were delicious. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance of the place, but based on my experience, I may not recommend it specifically for their burgers.

I made an online order from their website and brought the burgers back home. They have a decent selection of burgers within the range. They also have a special of the week which is on their facebook page. The place is hidden near Sylvia park. It is a bit out of the way. Pick up was fairly easy at the entrance. The burgers are pricier than others but also larger and tastier. I tried their special of the week, Its gravy baby, a steak burger with wedges and bacon. I enjoyed it but not as much as the hotdog. The Big js hotdog had everything in it and was really tasty. The bacon and onions made it really nice. Their kumara wedges were also decent but it doesn't come with any sauces. We also got some spring rolls and mac and cheese bites. The mac and cheese bites were nice. The spring roll was ok. Nice cheap dinner.

How dare you accuse my partner of being drunk?! He was tired from work thats why we ordered take out.

Two sides to every story doesnt excuse the fact your food was trash. He was suggested that burger(by you!)and so we went with it. He did ask for a burger as vegan as possible.

Instead of wasting time replying to comments on the internet, how about you invest the time in producing a product of some quality?

Plenty of other reviews saying this place is no good.

I should have read them first.

Went here last night asked for a mushroom burger 'as vegan as possible' and they put a meat patty in.

Not very good but then when we took it back we had to pay for a falafel bunless burger and it was so gross I took one bite and that was that.

The falafel was cooked outside but raw on the inside. I can tell it's not freshly made but store bought falafel mix which is really bland and also takes more than 5 minutes to cook which is why it was still completely raw inside.

Such a shame because my partner really gave me high hopes.

Oh, and the cat wouldn't even eat the meat patty, which is saying something cos he eats anything.

We usually would go back again but I was so drained I just had a banana smoothie for...

Not a great experience. I ordered the classic cheeseburger, my burger patty was smaller than the bun- for the first 5 bites I didnt get any patty at all. There was so much sauce that the bun was soggy and literally falling apart - it was obvious the buns hadn’t been toasted. The ingredients were alright, fresh lettuce etc but how it was put together spoiled the overall result.

The TV and radio were on full volume at the same time which made the ambience loud and awkward.

As we finished, we left our half finished burgers and wrapping on the table, since there was no bin inside. But as we were leaving, we were asked to come back and bus our own table! We were then asked to throw our wrapping outside in an overflowing public bin - full of their rubbish btw!!

They need to have a bin inside if they’re expecting their customers to clear their own tables. Not having one comes off as lazy and cheap and customers shouldn’t be expected to take the rubbish outside to an overflowing council bin. They should have a recycling option for the organic drinks in glass bottles they are selling too.

Would not recommend to anyone who enjoys good burgers. There are far better options...
