Bay Espresso Karamu Road — Restaurant in North Island

Served my food ten minutes after the other cooked food at our table (I ordered first). Specified clearly no mushrooms. There was honestly half a plateful of mushrooms. Sent it back. It got replated onto a cold plate, not remade, and delivered back to me 8 minutes later when it had sufficient time to get even colder. Pro-tip - no one wants cold fried eggs, cold fried tomato, cold toast, lukewarm sausages. I am not sure why a cafe would even try to serve food in that condition. They seemed a bit surprised and put out that I was asking for a refund (I ate less than 10grams of it checking temperatures only). Unable to refund onto my card, so gave me cash back.

I was still with our table, and they bought me a freshly made lunch. But again, it had a pile of mushrooms in the middle. I pointed out that the mushrooms were the problem all along, clearly stated by me as not to be put on my order. They took it away after some more insistence from me. They asked me if I would like the meal boxed for takeaway. I declined and said “no, it has mushrooms, I do not want it”.

Another few minutes later they bought a takeaway container over and put it in front of me. We opened it, but it has the fu*king mushrooms in it.

We are never coming back.

We came as we saw the good reviews online, we don't know what people were talking about? I ordered the eggs bene there was no toast?? in a eggs bene you should have toast ?? The portion was small so expensive I felt like I ordered a plate of hashbrowns. Area was alright, Ordered creamy mushrooms on toast It said "Add poached eggs 2" thought it came with two poached eggs as prices were all listed in bold in a separate column to the right. When I received just mushrooms (which were sweet ew) on dry unbuttured toast I questioned the eggs. One staff said I didn't order them and other disagreed ???? I waited for eggs while mushrooms went cold. When it arrived it was the WORST poached egg I've ever seen, sloppy and undercooked. I can make better at home with my eyes closed.
