The food presentation was amazing and tasty. Service and wait time top notch. Surroundings very rustic and homely with a river view. Convenience, always busy the 3days I visited, definitely need expanding. Overall, compared to city cafes, 10/10. Awesome to the owners. Compliments to the chef and Kitchen staff and waitresses, especially to the lady who makes the homemade tomato relish...tino reka! Loved the Japanese lime tea. My only concerns, no hair nets and food safety handling gloves in the food preparation section which is visible to the public, but otherwise highly recommend.

I'd like to thank the café owner and her daughter for inviting us (7 Hungary motor bike adventure riders)into her café after if had closed at 2.30 pm on a Sunday. They were very generous with the food offerings - large sausage rolls, even larger quiche and muffins and great coffee. The experience really added to our stunning trip around Wairoa and the great Hawkes Bay area -perfect weather for riding.

Nice cafe in Wairoa. Possibly the best one. Very busy. We ordered cappuccino and flat white plus a chocolate raspberry brownie. It was really good. Standard price. The lady at the counter could be a bit more friendly but I understand everyone was quite busy and she's trying to get the order quickly. Beautiful spot by the river. Recommended!

We walked the length of the main street and found that Wairoa has left the best till last! From the quirky cutlery pressed into the floor at the entrance, to the delicious looking food in the cabinet, and the friendly smiles from the staff serving, we were made to feel very welcome here. We were lucky that on such a warm day for winter we were able to get one of the outside tables and enjoyed two great flat whites, a slice and a melt. All were excellent, and were served with minimal delay. Excellent toilets at the back if, like me, you need to make room for...

Review from Miss 8 and Master 7. "These are the best pancakes I've ever tasted! Even better than McDonald's!" (That's a rare review right there!)

"My hot chocolate was just right" - (chanelling their inner Goldilocks)

Friendly service, love how our waitress addressed my grandchildren like custumers instead of ignoring them (some servers forget children). Food was scrumptious and if we ever pass through Wairoa we will definitely be calling in...
