A group of us came over from a service at the cemetery. Everyone ordered their food and drinks with no issues and was all paid for by one of our group. There was 9 of us. Unfortunately after everyone except 1 person had received their meal, the waitress who was also the same staff member who took our individual food orders, came out and said that this last persons food order wasn't available as they had run out. She asked if our group member would like to select a similar food order that was available. A short time later, the new food order arrived at our table with the Waitress advising this was going to be an extra cost. This was paid for immediately, which interrupted this persons meal by having to leave our table and go up to the counter. Our group as a whole were disappointed and thought that Four14 should have not asked for futher payment after the alternative meal was delivered but should gave at least mentioned the extra cost when advising the first order had run out. After all it was their mistake and they had a group booking of 9 to cover the 4 or 5...

If you've just left Tauranga on the way to Rotorua and forgotten to feed your family of hungry hyenas, then stop off to four14. Whether your hungry pack likes espresso, smoothies or kombucha, you'll get it here. Try to head out the back of the cafe, as it can get a bit hot in the main area. Nab yourself a table underneath an umbrella and park your pooch in one of the bean bags on offer like we did. The drinks were nice, however the coffee was only average. We had the chicken burger, the creamy mushroom parmesan stack, and a toastie - all the food was tasty, and staff were friendly. If you like antiques, there's a quaint antiques shop next door to nosey around. I'd go back if I was heading to Rotorua, but it wouldn't make my top ten bucket list of cafes to go...

Been going there often over a two year period for lovely coffees. I used the patio entrance around the back today due to the rain. The door was locked, but a customer opened it for me. However the attendant pounced on me, saying that I was not to use that entrance and that there was a sign to that effect. She then reprimanded me again, repeating that they do not use this entrance during the rain. I told her that I did not see any note, to which she said she was writing one as we spoke. This played out in front of all the customers, leaving me so embarrassed that I decided to leave. I phoned to speak to the manager but was told that ‘they’ were out and did not know when they would be in. I...

We came here for lunch. Cabinet food is soooooo expensive $14.50 for a roast vegetable frittata and $12.50 for a toasted sandwich. Wow, it was so small, basically 2 slices of bread and hardly any filling. Shame. Quite cold inside, even with heaters on. Coffee was good but took too long to come out and so did our food. Screw hanging out of one of the tables, which my son caught his pants on. Told staff who weren't that concerned. Overall, it was very disappointing.

The food is most definitely not what it once was.. portion sizes have decreased while the price continues to climb.. presentation isn't what it once was either.. when wait staff where told ohh we have a new chef... im really sorry... the apology want sincere, nor did it come across genuine.. extremely disappointed.. 2 pictures of how the food was and 1 picture of what it is now
