We made the drive up to here. Then walked up from the car park. I was hesitant because of the reviews, but glad we ordered food. Decent pricing compared to other places in the park. We ordered the Hot Lemon and Lime Chicken Wings, bowl of chips, a hot chai latte, and the breakfast muffin. The breakfast muffin was like a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin with bacon, fried egg, a hashbrown, tomato, and two types of sauces. Husband really enjoyed it. $10.00 Despite the chicken wings being $15, they were a lot of wings. Full wings not broken down into drumettes. A couple were really large and should have been cooked a bit longer, ended up not eating the drumette on those ones. The sauce was not spicy at all. If you have ever had Chinese food, there is a Peking sparerib dish, same sauce flavor on these wings. Sweet and sour type sauce but a little more robust. The bowl of chips were $9.50, not bad pricing. I see more and more people being their own sauces, I understand why. Whereas in the USA, condiments are usually unlimited, you get one or however many are allotted for your meal, any extras will cost you a pretty amount. Interesting that if you wanted a tiny container of tomato sauce it will cost you $0.80. For the size of the fries, you should have been given two sauces. The fries were hot and crisp with fluffy insides. The staff were alright. The guy working the counter seemed more friendly than his female counterparts. I only got to order from the female counterpart. One of the staffers carried a tray from the counter and lost a container of tomato sauce on the floor. What a mess that made.

I visited this place when I went to Whakapapa ski, and I was impressed by the friendly and proactive staff. They have a great selection, and unlimited ketchup and barbecue sauce refills, which I loved. I had a chicken burger with brie cheese, fried chicken patty and avocado, and it was delicious and filling. My partner had a beef burger, which he also enjoyed. The fries were crispy and plentiful. The price was reasonable for a tourist place, and the portions were generous. The coffee was just okay, nothing to write home about. The place can get quite busy during lunch time, so be prepared to wait for a table or order ahead. Overall, I had a good experience at Lorenz’s Bar And Cafe and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying meal after a day of skiing.

Not value for money at all. Staffs are very rude toward customers. Even the lady asked for our passport to check if we have the same name as our credit card we pay for food. We traveled many countries around, but here is the first time. I don't know it is racist or security check. All foods we ordered tasted real bad, felt like they used too old beef. Disappointed.... That's why it so empty If I can give zero star I would but luckily google map has 1 star minimum It is a shame for the location that has really beautiful view.

Last weekend was the worst dining experience of my life. I ordered a meat lovers pizza (pre assembled and displayed). I had to wait 20 minutes until the waitress brought a $1 slice of McCain Hawaiian microwave pizza. I told her that's not what I ordered and that I ordered a whole meat lovers pizza, she argued saying that was the meat lovers pizza, what kind of meat lovers has pineapple on it? I pointed to the glass cabinet to show her the type of pizza I ordered, she then told me she would bring the right pizza out to me. Another 20 minutes later, no pizza yet, but I see other people who ordered after me, get their pizza. I went up to the counter to ask politely, how far away my pizza is as it shouldn't take that long to cook a pre assembled pizza, a different waitress then checked that my docket was there and told me in a snarky attitude that it's coming, without checking the kitchen to see if there was an actual pizza there. Another 10-15 minutes later and still no pizza, I go up to the guy who took my order and asked him where my pizza was, he apologised and only then did he start...
