Sadly have to replace my previous positive review with one that isn’t as good. Went here over Matariki weekend and waited 20 minutes outside in the cold only to be seated on the end of a table that already had 4 people occupying it who seemed very disapproving. We were sat right next to a live music singer/guitarist who was laughably bad and way too loud. Ended up waiting in line to order our food takeaway. After 40 minutes of waiting in the car our food came and it sadly just wasn’t worth it. My photos might look alright but the pizza dough had no life to it, flat and sad with far too much tomato sauce which tasted just like tomato paste from the supermarket. Compared to the pizzas going on in Auckland this was kiddies stuff. Not sure if these guys have gone through new ownership and/or are suffering from the effects of covid but the whole experience was bad and on this platform and I have to be honest about it. Honestly I hate to leave reviews like this but I hope to return and have a better experience.

Luke's Kitchen is a Friday highlight with the absolute best vibes! The food was incredible, especially the mussels. The sauce was perfect—"just the right amount of chilli" and "just the right amount of everything." I was thrilled to find out they sell the sauce! Huzzah! The drink special—$10 margaritas—were lush and such great value. What truly makes this place, though, are the staff. The bar team were just amazing and so super friendly! They genuinely took an interest in our travels and connected personally—the bartender even knew where the New Forest was when I mentioned it! The staff who made it though. Just wow. Highly recommend for amazing food, great drinks, and truly top-tier service! Loos disabled access...and urinal through saloon swing door. Fun! (Video shows)

We stayed at Kūaotunu Campground to attend a family friend's beach wedding over Waitangi long weekend. At the wedding, Luke's Kitchen catered fresh stone oven pizzas for dinner. They were delicious, one of the best I've tasted and they also catered for special dietary needs e.g. vegetarians and gluten-free options. Throughout that weekend, we noticed long queues of customers lining up along the footpath outside the restaurant. On Sunday, we decided to place a phone order to avoid the need to queue and wait for our dinner.

Caitlin was friendly and pleasant over the phone and very hospitable when we arrived to pick up our order, I was impressed by how quickly she managed the iPad to process our order and then split the total cost between the two paying couples. Great customer service, Caitlin. Keep up the brilliant front-of-house work! 🫶👊

A special mention to the gifted Francine, who provided the live music this Sunday afternoon. What a beautiful and angelic voice you have. You had me singing along with your great choice of music 🎶

We picked up our order of fish n chips, mussel pot with garlic bread pizza and several other flavoured pizza's, the Fresh & Spicy, the Triple P and the Antipasto. I highly recommend the stone oven pizza's👌and my family friends thoroughly enjoyed the mussel pot. We took our takeaway dinner across to Kuaotunu Reserve and sat on one of the picnic tables and enjoyed our meal while looking at the breathtaking views of the beach. 🌊🏖

I would suggest phoning ahead and pre-ordering to avoid the long queues as the restaurant and food are so popular based on the number of patrons that dine in and collect their takeaways. We'll return, if we're ever...

Visited Luke’s Kitchen on 3 occasions in late February and on all occasions we’re not disappointed. Saturday 27th Feb - Lunchtime. First visit was to grab a quick lunch time bite to eat and a couple of drinks. Saturday 27th Feb - Evening. Food was excellent and service was friendly and quick. We were so impressed with the food, service and atmosphere of the place decided to head back that evening for a more substantial meal and of course a few more drinks. Luke’s Kitchen do not take bookings and we can fully understand why as the queue to get in was probably 10 deep all evening. Having said that, the tables turned over very quickly and after a short wait we were seated and shortly afterwards our drinks order was taken and within minutes we were served our drinks and food orders being taken. All this with a smile and a chat. Once again service and food was exemplary and very good value for money. Monday 1st March - Evening. We enjoyed our meal so much we decided to head back on the Monday. Again we were not disappointed with the food and service however after checking my account when I got home they had overcharged me $39.00. My fault I guess as I should have checked the bill when paying however it made little difference. After emailing the restaurant and giving my details the $39.00 was refunded into my Bank Account the following day with and an apology for the mistake given. Sorry this has turned into a novel however everything about this place is first class. If and when you get to the Kuaotunu, Coramandel Luke’s...

Luke's Kitchen, a charming café nestled in the heart of the Coromandel, truly comes alive on sunny Saturday afternoons, offering a delightful culinary escape. As soon as one steps in, the inviting aroma of freshly baked pizzas wafting through the air sets the tone for an unforgettable experience. The star of the show is, without a doubt, their pizza. Each pie is a masterpiece, boasting a perfect crust that strikes a delicate balance between crispy and chewy. The toppings are fresh, vibrant, and generously portioned, ensuring every bite is as flavorful as the last. The Margherita pizza, with its simple yet elegant combination of ripe tomatoes, fragrant basil, and melted mozzarella, is a testament to the kitchen's commitment to quality ingredients and traditional techniques. What truly sets Luke's Kitchen apart is the ambiance. The sun-drenched patio is an idyllic spot for leisurely dining, where one can bask in the warmth of the day while enjoying a slice of pizza. The staff contributes to the welcoming atmosphere with their attentive, yet unobtrusive service, ensuring that every need is met with a smile. In conclusion, Luke's Kitchen is more than just a café; it's a culinary haven that excels in delivering exceptional pizzas in a serene and friendly environment. A visit here promises not just a meal, but a delightful experience that lingers long after the last...
