The Clubhouse Cambridge — Restaurant in North Island

Went this evening with family to watch the Melbourne cup, the older lady working the bar had a positive attitude and was nice! However the atmosphere wasn’t great, very run down and could have so much done to the place aswell. Food is horrible though so don’t come here for a meal, our fries were dry and some were cold. Came with no sauce or seasoning either. Also think it’s disgusting how no one that works there has their hair tied up. They all had their hair down which is so unsanitary when working around the food. Even the kitchen staff had their hair down. Noticed the table next to us were complaining because they got cold food with someone’s hair in it. Hope you chnage the health and safety...

Came in for dinner with the whanau, got a steak meal. Got half way thru my meal and noticed the mushrooms had a couple hairs in it, told the lady behind the bar and got no apology what so ever. My mum ordered a few desserts afterwards and was given 1 for free, I guess that was suppose to be a way of apologizing 🙄 my sons meal was missed so we had to reorder it so he ended up eating last. Steak was dry, vegies were nice, the other patrons who were drinking and swearing was a huge put off, especially seeing as we had young kids with us. Wont be in a hurry...

We went to the Quiz night last night - it was great! We also had dinner there. My husband had the steak - which was REALLY reasonable & really good. I had the Fishermans Platter - again, also very good. Both portions were MASSIVE, & very reasonably priced. I couldn't get through even half - mind you, I ordered the 'small', thinking it would be for 1 person! WRONG! It probably would have fed 2-3. Others at the table enjoyed their meals, which were also very generous....
