The Horse & Hound Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in North Island

Ardijah concert at the Horse & Hound, was absolutely amazing BUT..........

As for the venue it was shocking how people were treated. We went early to have a meal, then along with about 10 others were very rudely shunted outside in the freezing cold for over an hour. (We werent even allowed to even wait in the warm pokies room and the games were turned off 1/2 way through being played) This is while the very disorganized rude and some aggressive staff "rearranged" and "set" up for Ardijah. (which involved shifting the bar leaner's and stools over to 1 side) Outside were elderly people plus a disabled girl in a wheelchair left waiting outside in the bitter cold. I realise it said on the tickets "doors open at 8pm" but the whole way it was handled was extremely bad and definitely should have been done alot better, (they could have at least let people wait inside the foyer area or pokies room) no doubt a lot of people would have ended up sick with colds and flu .......I will not go back there ever again and I don't think a lot of others...

Hubby's away working his day off being Sunday went to have drinks. Played some pokies etc. Ask for food and was told that no chef onsite but we can cook steak eggs n chips he thought good...when the time came for him wanting something to eat another staff member said they were changing the oil and it will be ready by 1pm, ok. Anyway he decided to walk back to his motel.which is across the road waited until 2ish then asked if they were ready to cook, no they were still cleaning the vat??? He was pretty hungry and asked what else do they have to eat because they'd said they could cook this food, chips & nuts they said rudely! He said to them you're probably not suppose to be operating with no warm food! They got angry and kicked him out said never to come back! They lied...

This place should be shut down I was assaulted in the bar concussed and nose broken and the manager did not call ambulance or police instead a taxi was called for myself then she posted a picture of me on the fb page because she has an arguement with my Cuzn over serving him drinks making out she’s a good manager I’ve seen worst people than the state we were in at that bar

My Cuzn from Australia doesn’t really drink and was not slurring he was just really happy to be home in the bay he’s been away from NZ for 20 years i spent thousands of dollars in the bar before being treated like this

Yet she didn’t post pictures of the person who assaulted me or bar them for their actions I feel this is not on for a bar to be...
