Mosgiel dials down at night, but this place was crowded on a Friday evening. If you must, get the ribs. (NZD $30 for small, NZD$37 for large <pictured> ) Fundamentally a beer place and a hangout spot for locals to gamble and watch sports, the ambience may not be as quaint. However, when beer is NZD$8 for a pint during happy hours, there's not much to complain. Other food pictured: Beef Schnitzel Roast of the day (ham)

Stunning meals, the Thai curry with blue cod and prawns was next level I swear, blue cod is quite delicate so it must have been lightly poached in the sauce to be served the way it was. As per photos the rest was lovely, I recommend the mixed entree to, slow cooked ribs, pork belly bao buns and spring rolls. Top level dining experience for a couple of flood trapped travelers having an impromptu stay in Mosgiel.

Went for a family meal. Meals were quite big and very tasty. Kids meals were great too. Menu was a little different to the one online and one of the beers on the menu was no longer available, which was annoying, but we got quite good service and ultimately great food so 5 stars in the end. Worth a visit for sure.

Service slow to start. Showed us to table, then 10-15 minutes til brought water over & offered drinks. I had the ribeye steak. Was tasty, but there was no room on plate, so therefore steak lay over top of half the fries. Sauce should have been in a jug, not a bowl.... which took up too much room on plate. So presentation poor; & because plate was too small it made it difficult to eat. Decor drab & dark. Needs a refresh & lighten up. Very 80's/90's. Lighting not over all tables. Price....found meals priceý; in light of fact they're pub meals. Much nicer places with the meals at same or lower prices. Now I hadn't been here in a long time, & I felt I was in a time warp. So, overall, meals good, but pricey & not overall good...

Had lunch there today and we would not rush back. Food served was not as described on the menu. The waitress was the only pleasant thing although when we told her that the food was not what we were expecting she agreed and said that they had run out of some stuff. No offer of compensation even though we waited for over an hour and 2 people who arrived at the tavern after us were served their meals before us. Bad...
